Delicious food and friendly service in an unassuming and welcoming atmosphere. We tried lots of highly recommended restaurants during our trip to the city but Abyssinia was the favorite of all! Two entrees shared between two of us was more than enough and they gave plenty of injera. The doro wat and lamb alicha were both fantastic! View all feedback.
What Nubs doesn't like about Cafe Abyssinia:
Drank paid for bottled water for 40 minutes waiting for food. Lamb was overcooked/rubbery; red lentils were good. The waitress was friendly and gave us an additional free bottle of water during the wait. View all feedback.

Amazing food, atmosphere at staff. One of my favorite places to eat.
I have been a fan of Ethiopian food for years. Mainly have gone to restaurants in other towns. This was my first time going to a one in New Orleans. I took my wife with me. We were both delighted with the service and food. The waiter was polite and efficient. The food was warm and fresh. We ordered one veggie platter, and it was more than enough for both of us. The place is worth going back to, and we will.
Such delicious food. Every time I'm in nola i have to eat here
