Dimartino's - Covington

I checked out the menu online and decided to order a bowl of gumbo, a shrimp po'boy, and spaghetti with meatballs. However, when I went to pick up my order and pay, I noticed that each item was $5.00 more than what was listed. When I mentioned this, the guy acknowledged it and said he knew it had been a while since they updated their menu. Seriously?

The restaurant offers some decent dishes, but overall it's pretty average. If you're in the mood for a muffuletta, the best one can be found at Bosco's off Highway 59, just south of I-12. For exceptional Italian cuisine, I recommend Del Porto. If you're craving Sicilian-style red sauce Italian, check out Marcello's in Covington or Impastato's in Mandeville.

From the moment we entered the restaurant, our experience was disappointing. The waiter refused to split our checks and added a 25% gratuity. While I understand an automatic tip of 20%, 25% feels excessive. I won't be returning.

Dimartino's is a great dining spot on the northshore. The Veal Parmesan and Grilled Shrimp appetizer were absolutely delicious, as was the hot buttered french bread that came with everything. Can't say enough about the excellent service.

Eggplant, muffaletta and fried shrimp were big hits. Staff were all masked and patrons were spread out. Restaurant was spotless. Well worth the detour from I-10.
