Feedback
Yesterday, we dined at Yuca and were completely impressed by their flavors. Knowing Yuca was the second of the owner’s two restaurants, we assumed Cedar would be even better. Walking into Cedar, we immediately noticed a similar vibe to Yuca—clean, open, and beautifully decorated. Excited to try the food, we started with their guacamole, which was outstanding, paired with freshly made, perfectly salted chips. If you’re not a big fan of salt like I am, I’d recommend asking for light salt. He ordered the Fat Zach. While the flavors were definitely on point, we realized we might have chosen poorly—the corn flavor in the tortilla was a bit too strong for him, overshadowing the other ingredients. I had a few bites and found it very flavorful. I went with the burger, which I forgot to photograph from the menu. The menu has changed since the website version, but it was described as a blackened burger topped with shrimp and sausage gravy, along with an aioli spread. They were very accommodating, serving the shrimp and aioli on the side since my husband doesn’t eat shrimp and I’m not a fan of aioli. The burger was packed with flavor and absolutely delicious! I also loved their fries—they’re so tasty that you don’t even need ketchup. Oh, and their bathrooms are clean too!
Cedar offers excellent food and attentive service. The staff are very responsive to our needs. While visiting town to see our granddaughter, the hotel concierge recommended Cedar. We had the pleasure of meeting Tony, the owner, who shared some history about the restaurant and told us about their other establishment, Yuca. Before we left, Tony kindly gave us a gift card valid at both Cedar and Yuca. We look forward to returning in October to visit again and explore the menu at Yuca.
