Southland - Cottondale

We had lunch here, service was good as was the food. They also have a very good salad bar. It is an old place but many locals eat here almost every day, now I know why. I had two fried pork chops, salad and French fries, my lady had cheese burger and fries, it was all very good.

How this place ever got more than one star, I will never understand. I am pretty sure that I am leaving with food poisoning from what was supposed to be ranch dressing, but had a ?zing? to it like a cross between pickle and lime juice?? Professional chef said whaaaaat? The servers and staff are very nice, ?.the food?not so much. Ugh. Terrible.

I could write a book about this restaurant. OMG The Staff Managers are like Angels. They are super sweet and are on top of everything with a smile at all times. If you want to feel like you're eating in heaven then I recommend you Fly Up here and don't forget to try those Beef Tips on Thursday's you won't regret it I swear?

This resturant serves very fast food. I got the hamburger steak with gravy and onions. Tell your waiter if you don't want the steak toppings. The sides I got which were macaroni and cheese, salty green beans, mash potatoes with gravy and a strawberry cake dessert. The cake is a slice of white cake covered on top with a pink strawberry frosting. My drink was Sirrea mist. You can get free drink refills. I also got a basket of one roll and one piece of cornbread before my meal came. There are other desserts such as caramel cake, banana pudding, carrot cake, red velvet cake and brown chocolate cake. There may not be many dessert choices if you come during the last hour before closing. A bus person comes and puts all the dishes in a giant plastic bin on a cart after customers are done eating. The cooks, hosts, waiters and all staff work hard to meet everyone's needs. There is a clean restroom in the back and a tv on the wall where you can watch football.
