My partner ordered the lamb shank and I ordered the tuna. I was, however, disappointed with the so-called vegetables that were served with my tuna. There was barely enough to enjoy and the mauve-coloured mash under the tuna was not enjoyable. Nobody explained this mash to me. A wonderful fine dining experience! The staff were friendly and attentive. The view of the chateau at night was lovely!
The food we had was decent, but not the best Mauritian cuisine. However, the price is justified by the beautiful view of the château.
My partner chose the lamb shank while I went for the tuna. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the vegetables that accompanied my dish; there simply wasn't enough to savor. The mauve-colored mash beneath the tuna was unappealing, and no one bothered to explain it to me. Even after asking our waitress, Sheila, I still couldn't grasp what it was. I believe a better selection of vegetables would have complemented the tuna dish much more effectively. On a positive note, the roasted vegetables that came with the lamb shank looked quite appetizing.
The restaurant next to Château de Labourdonnais offers exceptional cuisine. We enjoyed one of the most exquisite lunches on the island, and they also provide rum tasting experiences.
The atmosphere is lovely, the service is excellent, and the food is fabulous! Highly recommend!
