We ordered the fish and chips and were deligh... read more We were just passing through Lechlade and looking for a takeaway lunch and saw Monica’s Plaice on the High Street. We ordered the fish and chips and were delighted to see they were freshly cooked to order. The quality was excellent, the price was on par for The Cotswolds and the service was efficient. They also have a restaurant if you want to sit in it closes at 1.30pm at lunchtime and the takeaway closes at 2pm. It is well worth the visit!

We seated... read more After a wet and rainy drive, we arrived in Lechlade feeling a bit hungry. My wife spotted that Monica's was open and suggested we have fish and chips. We seated ourselves inside and placed our order, which arrived promptly. The portions were generous, and the kids' fish and chips were just right for our 6-year-old, while the sausage and chips were perfect for our 2-year-old. I opted for haddock and chips with curry sauce, while my wife had cod and chips with mushy peas. Everything was delicious and flavorful. We will definitely return next time we are in the area - a lovely little fish bar with very friendly staff.

The staff were pleasant and smily and the seating area is cool in temperature (very welcome on a hot day! and was very clean and the fish and chips were delightful, lovely white cod and light crisp batter and the chips were really nice too! I also think they are priced well, as a lot of the other eateries in Lechlade are a bit pretentious and overpriced for my taste!! Thank you guys and we will will be back!
