After enjoying a lovely weekend with friends in the Cotswolds, we were recommended this restaurant for Sunday dinner. The food and service were fantastic. A big thank you to "Big Jo" for making our visit extra special. We highly recommend this restaurant!

We had an amazing Valentine's Day at The Lygon Arms. We selected the duck from the specials board and it was a fantastic meal served with a side of delicious vegetables. The portion sizes were generous and the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. This was the best meal I have had in years. Despite living an hour away, we will definitely be returning for a Sunday roast.

Upon entering the pub, we were greeted with a rather rude reception from the owner, who curtly asked, "What do you want?" When we requested a drink, she instructed us to wait "one minute" as she tended to other tasks. Upon her return, she served other customers without acknowledging us or making eye contact. We were the only non-white patrons, and I'm uncertain what her issue was. Perhaps she was having a bad day, but it seemed as though she treated others with more kindness.

On two separate occasions I tried to enter the restaurant for a meal and was informed on both occasions that the restaurant was full although it certainly did not look like it . The first time a lovely younger waitress tried to show me the...special board and get me a menu but another lady appeared in the doorway and I was allowed no further. We tried again a few nights later as I think it did looked a nice setting to eat but we were greeted with the same sharp and unfriendly attitude because of this I would not visit again. Not sure if it’s just for locals here to be honest .

Great vegetarian dishes have become more common place of late and the Lygon Arms is no exception, having a restaurant of my own, I am not always easy to impress, but these guys do over and over.
