We were staying near Stroud and needed to find somewhere for an evening meal. Although we visit the area often this was the first time we had been here. It calls itself a polo pub and the decor reflects here. The night we were there... View all feedback.

We tried this pub not long after re opening .. the staff were very nice and welcoming but the service was very slow ! A good Sunday lunch was had .. the room was quite cold , I kept my coat on ..! Afire would have made all the difference . View all feedback.
Having not been at the Foston's Ash for probably 20 years we visited for lunch and were not disappointed. The food was excellent (mains were burger, sole and lamb) and service was efficient and friendly. Will try not to wait 20 years until the next visit!
The best things happen unplanned! We have visited The Foston’s Ash in Birdlip by coincidence. Not only we have met a friend from the past here but also had an amazing lunch in beautiful setting. The food was delicious and flavoursome cooked to perfection, the staff is very friendly, helpful and professional. The courtyard garden is just beautiful. You can also stay in their new shepherds huts! We will definitely be back!
We booked a table for 5 and had a fantastic meal. The service was very personal, when the food arrived was presented perfectly, portion size was good. So difficult to find that special space with good food, service and atmosphere, for us this place scored on all counts and we hope to be back.
The Chef and waiting staff were helpful and accommodating with food allergies , managing to change some ingredients from a very nice menu. Great selection of beers and a lovely relaxing garden.
Visited with my partner and his son daughter and family. The food was nice but very expensive for not a a very big portion. We certainly won't be visiting again.
