Feedback
Fork offers an intriguing dining experience blending modern culinary trends with a touch of pretentiousness. While some guests appreciate the farm-to-table ethos and unique seasonal menus, others critique the high prices and small portion sizes. Cocktails receive acclaim for their creativity, yet some diners express disappointment in certain dishes, citing underwhelming flavors and execution. Service levels vary; while some patrons delight in the attentive staff, others find it lacking in warmth. Despite mixed reviews, Fork remains a trendy spot for those seeking a stylish atmosphere and gourmet flair—perfect for adventurous diners but perhaps not for the budget-conscious.
Barrel and Fork in Lake Norman may offer the best dining experience my significant other and I have had since moving to the Charlotte area. The service staff, from the hostesses to the manager, were all incredibly friendly and attentive. We started at the bar with a bartender named Jed, who was extremely knowledgeable and personable. Despite being busy, he took the time to craft incredible drinks for us, making our experience truly unique. Our server Shannon was also fantastic and very attentive. It's rare to find a place that deserves a perfect 10/10 rating, but we honestly couldn't find anything wrong with our experience. We will definitely be returning!
The restaurant offers delicious, sophisticated, high-quality cuisine in an elegant setting. While it may be pricey, the food is worth the cost as it is truly exceptional. The scallops, salmon, potatoes, and leeks were all fantastic.
Love everything about this place. Going back regularly.
We have been wanting to go to Barrel and Fork for a long time now. However, we just went there for our first time. We chose this place to celebrate our Anniversary. We had made reservations to sit at a table, however when we walked into the restaurant wesaw friends sitting at the bar. They called us to sit with them, and Erick, the GM, and also the server that they had assignedfor our reservation, were so gracious to let us sit at the bar. We had the best restaurant experience in Cornelius. It reallyfelt like something you find in Greenwich Village; everything about it: the old house, the ambiance, the class mixed withhipster, the service, the music, the drinks, the food, etc. Yes, the place is pricey, but it is worth every penny! Or at least, that was the experience we had the night we went there. As we arrived they had complimentary champagne waiting for us, greattouch! We continued with plenty of small dishes and each one of them was wonderful. Unbeknownst to us they brought us acomplimentary dessert: cheesecake with homemade plums in syrup. It was delicious. The top layer of the cheesecake was like thecaramelized layer in crème brûlée. The plums in syrup were tasty yet not too sweet. Just well made and a good combination!!!Now, let’s talk about the drinks: that is the experience; innovative, well balanced flavors, delicious, and fun! The bartenderwas the attraction of the night: her personality is so big; she immediately reads what you like and prepares the drinksaccordingly. I could go on and on talking about our experience at Barrel and Fork, but I better post the photos to speak forthemselves. We feel fortunate to have a place like this in Cornelius!!!!!
My friends took me out to dinner here and we had a blast! The restaurant was packed so we sat at the bar where Mackenzie and Ian took great care of us. The drinks were amazing and Ian made a really cool dry ice bomb for us with flower garnish and some coolpurple liquid. Mackenzie told us how she sources a lot of the crystal glassware from antique shops in the area which I thoughtwas very neat. Our food was spectacular I got the Wagyu Burger and it was delicious. I highly recommend the lobster Mac ncheese(makes great leftovers). Mackenzie also told us that she makes most of the desserts. We went with the coffee creme bruleeand it was divine! Wonderful dining experience and atmosphere can't wait to go back!
