What User doesn't like about The Spitjack Rotisserie Brasserie:
Unfortunately, the menu has changed, and it seems that many dishes now contain gluten. Instead of offering a clearly marked gluten-free (gf) menu, I was presented with an allergen table. I had to inquire whether certain dishes could be modified to be gluten-free. I'm very disappointed, as this was my favorite restaurant. View all feedback.
Delicious meal, felt confident and safe eating there. Staff provided an allergy menu and informed me of what dishes could be adapted to give me more options on the menu. Had the beetroot terrine and roast chicken burger with gratin instead of chips and finished with a lemon posset. Great meal, great staff and great atmosphere!
Brunch was a little limited. Allergen menu was labeled. Staff was knowledgeable. I want to say the porchetta I originally ordered was marked on the allergen menu as GF but the waiter clarified that the brunch version had a bread filling and recommended against it (obviously). He was able to steer me to a better main and sides. Food was very good. 9 White Deer GF beer was available.

I have dined at Spitjack two times, once in Limerick and once in Cork. They offer a separate allergen menu that covers all types of allergens, but unfortunately, the menu in Cork was not updated. However, the staff is well-informed about gluten-free and dairy-free options and can adjust most dishes to accommodate those needs. I was informed that the chips and hash browns are fried in the same oil as gluten-containing ingredients, so there is no dedicated fryer. I'm not entirely certain if other cross-contamination measures are in place. The food tastes fantastic, with generous portion sizes, and the staff is lovely and friendly. I will definitely return.
I regret to say that the menu has changed, and it seems the sauces now contain gluten. I was given an allergen table instead of a gluten-free marked menu. I had to inquire whether specific dishes could be modified to be gluten-free. I'm very disappointed, as this was my favorite restaurant.
