The food is not bad, pretty tasty actually but i had a catch up with a friend and a Restaurant was nearly empty, we ordered a bottle of wine and 2 main dishes,... read more The food is not bad, pretty tasty actually but i had a catch up with a friend and a Restaurant was nearly empty, we ordered a bottle of wine and 2 main dishes, waitresses started to sweep the floor around and there still was 1 hour before closing. First time i had ordered wine and had to open it myself, when you pay over 50€ you would expect to be spoiled or at least have your wine opened. Would Recommended as take away not Restaurant to Eat in.

Lots of choice o... read more I have to say that the food here is really delicious. Fabulous Thai flavours in the Thai offerings here. The Bangkok Duck was very good indeed. Lots of choice on the menu and more than enough to please everyone and to entice you back again and again. The portion size was also nice and generous and we could not fault the attentive service there. So far so good. the only downside was the distinct lack of any atmosphere. The place was very quiet (it was later in the evening, granted, but not that late) and they didn't even have any kind of background music playing. It felt cold and uninviting to be honest. Ok, if it was just about the food alone and nothing else it would be fine, but for a dinner out with family or friends or even with your other half you really would be looking for a bit more in terms of the overall ambience to want to come back again. We will definitely be back for lunch though!

Eventually,... read more Kubos closed its doors at the end of 2023 with no prior notice to its loyal customers, neither in-store nor through social media or online channels. Eventually, they placed a sheet of A4 paper in the window announcing that the restaurant was undergoing renovations and would reopen soon. It’s shocking to see that it’s now gone, replaced by yet another generic taco chain. The lack of professionalism displayed by the owner of Kubos during the lead-up to their departure from Douglas after all these years is incredibly disappointing. Food: 1, Service: 1, Atmosphere: 1.
