Eventually,... read more Kubos closed its doors at the end of 2023 with no prior notice to its loyal customers, neither in-store nor through social media or online channels. Eventually, they placed a sheet of A4 paper in the window announcing that the restaurant was undergoing renovations and would reopen soon. It’s shocking to see that it’s now gone, replaced by yet another generic taco chain. The lack of professionalism displayed by the owner of Kubos during the lead-up to their departure from Douglas after all these years is incredibly disappointing. Food: 1, Service: 1, Atmosphere: 1.

As much as I say every time I get a takeaway from Kubo never again, I somehow find myself back there againmaybe after a month or so, after the memories of the last bad meal have faded. But his time there no going back. Over €50 spent of 4 dishes and such poor quality. The chicken is and has always been dry and over cooked, to the the point of being un- digestible. It seems it may be pre cooked and then re-heated? Such a pity as the flavours are greatbeing such simple food with a little attention to detail and care in the the cooking and selection of ingredients, it could be amazing! But no.it’s been open now for I’d say 10-15 years and it hasn’t made any effort to improve. It’s just lazy takaway food more than likely cooked by very un/motivated cooks who have lost all interest in what’s being cooked. Such a shame as a place like KUBO has such great potentialwith a little care and attention to detail. Service: Take out Price per person: €40–50 Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 1

Great alter... read more We LOVE Kubo the menu offers a great variety of dishes, the location is very central and the staff have always been lovely (especially to the kids). Great alternative to Ramen but with a wider selection offered. Only thing that I can think of that would make it perfect is to reintroduce the ice cream machine. Enjoy Kubo great spot to visit.
