What Anonym dislikes about Kubo:
Unfortunately, our recent visit to Kubo was disappointing. We were a group, and while some dishes were enjoyable, others were quite poor. The chefs seemed to overuse soy sauce, making many meals overly salty and pickled. The noodles were sticky and clumped together, and we even noticed a detergent taste on the cutlery. Kubo is our favorite local restaurant! The food is always fresh and delicious. We particularly love the yellow curry and the crispy chicken. The curry puffs are fantastic as well! The delivery is quick and always accurate. Everything we’ve tried has been beautifully tasty. The staff is excellent, too. Thank you, Kubo!

Kubos closed its doors at the end of 2023 with no prior notice to its loyal customers, neither in-store nor through social media or online channels. Eventually, they placed a sheet of A4 paper in the window announcing that the restaurant was undergoing renovations and would reopen soon. It’s shocking to see that it’s now gone, replaced by yet another generic taco chain. The lack of professionalism displayed by the owner of Kubos during the lead-up to their departure from Douglas after all these years is incredibly disappointing. Food: 1, Service: 1, Atmosphere: 1.
