During my recent stay at the Clayton Hotel, I was quite disappointed with the service at Globe Restaurant and Bar. I ate there two consecutive evenings, and both visits were equally frustrating. Although I had a reservation, I was not seated at the reserved time, despite there being many empty tables. I ended up waiting 30 minutes without receiving any service or attention from the staff.
The food and service at Globe Restaurant And Bar are outstanding. The portions are generous, and the pint of Guinness is consistently enjoyable.
The staff are very friendly and make an effort to provide good service, but the food is truly disappointing. It's the worst curry I’ve ever tasted. As for vegetarian options, they’re all unhealthy except for a basic salad. Parking is available in an underground lot with a special rate for restaurant and hotel guests. Service was for dining in during dinner.
It's always a pleasure to dine and enjoy a drink here when I'm staying at the Clayton. The food is wonderful and the service is outstanding. Huge thanks to Elise!
Dear readers, let me share my thoughts on Globe Restaurant and Bar, a place that both impresses and disappoints. On one hand, it boasts a charming and elegant atmosphere—a perfect escape from daily chaos, ideal for quiet reflection or focused work. The coffee enjoyed outside the bistro is a true sensory pleasure. Unfortunately, the coffee served inside does not live up to this standard, falling short and feeling rather mediocre. The service, on the other hand, is commendable—friendly, prompt, and attentive, contrary to some complaints about long waits I have not experienced myself. Now, to the main issue: the food. Sadly, it was a letdown, far below what I would expect from such an establishment, to the point of being nearly inedible. This makes it hard to recommend Globe as a dining destination. In summary, it’s a great spot for drinks, working undisturbed, and enjoying a refined environment, but the food seriously misses the mark. With fairness in mind, I give it 3 out of 5 stars and hope the kitchen refines its offerings to match the venue’s true potential.
