This quaint, eclectic, rustic and generally fascinating coffee shop is in a small museum area of Coolamon, being behind the historical “Up to Date Store” a 1900... read more This quaint, eclectic, rustic and generally fascinating coffee shop is in a small museum area of Coolamon, being behind the historical “Up to Date Store” a 1900 period shop, a wool cart and farm equipment museum and the local library.There is also an RSL museum and a fire brigade museum nearby.To my knowledge, they only serve tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits but have a diverse collection of gifts and display items that fit in with the museum theme of the location.All this in what is basically a big tin shed. They open 9.30 to 5.00 pm Friday, Saturday, Sunday and some long weekends.

The main entrance was difficult to find and access, and the ramp entry was hidden in a yard and well behind other buildings. This ramp led to a wooden verandah that was so crowded with chairs and pot plants that it was very difficult to navigate. The entry doorway (almost hidden at the rear) had another obstacle - a channel that would have stopped any wheelchair. On ordering we discovered that the business was cash only.. this was surprising in a business with such a large range of gifts. I can't believe that businesses still operate without eftpos. The coffee was forgettable but the cakes were very nice. The access problems and payment issues soured our experience. We probably won't be back.
