Was Anonym at Tejas Mexican a mag?
We had a great time on a quick trip to Austin for a visit with our daughter. It was a perfect spot for us to visit and chat and the food was absolutely delicious! Our waitress, Blue, was very helpful and proficient. View all feedback.

What Donna dislikes about Tejas Mexican:
We were quite disappointed to find that the kitchen was not allergy-friendly. We wanted to order a vegetarian bowl without onion, but our server told us that this wasn't possible. Essentially, we were just trying to remove one ingredient from the bowl! How could that be an issue? Her response was, "The bowls are pre-made." This was very frustrating. Had brunch at Z'Tejas today. Haven't been to Austin in awhile and this has always been a great casual restaurant. Had the Bloody Mary build your own bar which has some really good selections to choose from. Two of us ordered the chicken and waffles, which were very good. Could have been a bit spicier for my taste. Another person in our group had the panko crusted chicken salad and she said is was delicious. The other person had the special burrito and also thought it was great. All in all, consistent quality, great menu, and great service.

The unfortunate part of our good experience was my wife and I ordered the prime rib breakfast special. They were both delivered to us well done to burnt thus almost destroying the dish. The waiter advised us that is how the kitchen is preparing the dish for all... It was a little bit of a let-down.

Our server was great and very attentive. Had great suggestions on what to get food/drink wise and was very acclimating to a few different food allergies we have. This was a great experience overall and will be going back the next time I am in Austin!

Great menu with multiple options for everyone. We arrived earlier than our reservation but were accommodated without a hitch (party of 8). Our server was awesome and steered us expertly through the menu, suggesting appetizers/ entrees/ and cocktails. We had a blast celebrating our recent graduate and never felt hurried or rushed.
