Had a nice visit to the River's Edge for dinner and an overnight. Met the proprietor who was very attentive and helpful. Restaurant was yummy with great service. The B and B was pretty good. The breakfast was self-serve and supplied well. Freshmuffins were brought in the night before. The only hiccup was the mattress...not very comfortable...time for an upgrade.
We were looking for a place to stay last minute after a long day of riding on the GAP trail and River?s Edge turned out to be the perfect spot. The b&b was cozy and very fairly priced and came with a full breakfast, tea and coffee, along with a coveredand locked garage to store our bikes. The owner and staff were very friendly as well. Thanks for a great stay!
Visited this little gem after an afternoon bike ride down from Ohiopyle, and enjoyed dinner on their covered front porch. Surprising that such a small establishment would offer such an expansive menu impressive. Although the fish sandwich I had wastasty, it was quite small and was surely just microwaved from a frozen filet not great. However, everyone else thoroughlyenjoyed their meals. One oddity were the chips served on the side, as each of us only received 6 9 individual chips notkidding. Either don't serve them at all, or give me a half plate full, eh? Lastly, this is the first time I saw a $1.99 chargeon the bill for using a credit card. That's the cost of doing business, is it not? If credit cards weren't accepted here, Iwouldn't have visited at all, ya' know? Anyway, I did enjoy my visit and would likely return.
Well we had 2 dogs with is. One had his service dog vest and card, the other was a 4 month old trading in progress. We were told to go sit outside in the yard. We had to look at a menu attached to a tree. Our food was brought to is on paper plates, qualityand quantity wasn't as nice as it has been in the past. Made to feel like unwanted guests. Won't go back.
We went to falling water today and before we left asked our guide for a dinner recommendation. This was one of the two places she suggested so we took the ride through the park to go. Parking was easy in a lot, always worth a star. The place was rusticand decorated comfy cozy. We enjoyed a table for two on the porch which was a great place to relax and dine looking out ontothe river. Maggie our server was attentive and efficient. Our salads where fresh and they had blue cheese crumbles which alwaysmakes me happy. They did not have Russian or French dressing which did not make my husband happy. He ordered the special beeftips in a mushroom gravy with mashed potatoes that he enjoyed. I ordered the clam stuffed shrimp which was tasty but not as hotas I would have liked. The bill was reasonable. If I lived closer I could see myself coming back for lunch often.
