We are regulars of this popular eatery at Breakfast Point. For lunch we enjoyed seafood pasta, and paella. Both tasty, although the paella was delayed. To their credit, the new owners apologised sincerely and discounted the bill. One suggestion: consider offering side salads. This option is prevalent elsewhere and should provide more options and increase patronage. Overall, attentive staff, pleasant food and keen new... View all feedback.
What Rosli dislikes about olivekitchen:
Its been some time since we last visited this cafe. I waited for a friend to join me so I ordered a coffee, the intention being that when my friend joined me we would have lunch. After waiting for a ridiculous time for a latte to be made and served I decided against eating here. The place wasn't busy so this couldn't be the problem. The coffee was average and the small dog at the table next to me was constantly yappi... View all feedback.

We had a delightful lunch in the winter sun and were able to sit in the al fresco area. The menu is adventurous, the prices are very good, the food is terrific and the staff are attentive. What else do you need, go there.

It's amazing how in 2 weeks the food has changed. I am a regular and today ordered my usual multigrain sourdough with avocado slices and smoked salmon. Very disappointed as far as old loyal customer was charged 18.90 for a supermarket brand premade avocado spread (which had some spice in it like chilli) on toast and 2 tiny pieces smoked salmon on top. Usually accustomed to lovely presentation of sliced fresh avocado and 4 lovely slices of gorgeous salmon on side. Royally ripped off today. Staff who were serving were attentive, not sure whether kitchen staff were, huge let down today. Not going back.

I reviewed Olive Kitchen just over a year ago and was quite critical of it at the time. We’ve recently been back to try it again since it has changed hands. I think the food and service are much better now the cafe is being run by new people. We’ve visited for breakfast a few times recently. The breakfast menu has all the standard offerings. It’s not hugely creative but everything we ordered was well cooked and tasty. I had the vegetarian breakfast on one visit. It was around $20 but there was a lot of food so I thought it was good value. Eggs were also cooked well. I’ve also tried the mushroom and asparagus omelette which came with toast. It was also a nice dish. We didn’t wait long for the food to arrive. My one criticism of the menu is that some of the breakfast sides are very pricey. $5.90 for smoked salmon and avocado! That’s a ridiculous price to pay for a side of avocado (especially when avocados are pretty cheap in the supermarket at the moment). I’m afraid I won’t be ordering sides if I visit as I can’t justify paying those steep prices. One change for the better that we have appreciated is that the cafe is now serving decent bread hooray! You can order soy linseed, dark rye etc. Bread is yummy and of a high quality. When we ordered toast, it was a generous serving. The service is also much better. Waitresses are friendly and welcoming. They don’t mind if you make changes to the menu, and go out of their way to help. It’s great news for Breakfast Point that this cafe is operating at a high standard. We will certainly be return visitors if the good food and service continues.

We regularly have lunch here and have always enjoyed the food and service. They have a good variety of dishes including vegetarian. Prices are on the $20 to $25 range and very reasonable for the quality and quantity. The location is also a plus.
Firstly, this place is at Shop 5, 20 Market Street, Breakfast Point, not in Concord! They must have moved at some point. Anyway, the coffees are terrific and the spot is very nice too.
Staff - friendly.Ambience - nice outdoor area. Service - bad. We were in a group and individual food was coming in long intervals. Last order came in 15-20 minutes after the first one. So we were just waiting. Even the coffee came in after long delays. Food - most of things from menu were not available. Average food.
It's a while since we have eaten here and I'm told it has changed hands. It wasn't long before our orders were taken but it was a long, long wait for the meals to arrive. Two of us work in the industry and are very tolerant of delays in cafes due to circumstances but this was a ridiculous waiting time. The coffees eventually arrived and were average in flavour. The food came a while later and were large in portion and very nice. Couldn't understand why the salt was in a pepper container with no pepper to be seen then the waiter appeared with the large pepper grinder. I'm thinking that the kitchen was short staffed with another staffer arriving after we had ordered as people that arrived later than us appeared to get their food orders quite promptly. The food was enjoyable but will try a different cafe next time.
This is a popular meeting place for brunch and dinners in Breakfast Point. There are mixed reviews so far, but whenever we were there, and when the owner and his wife are serving, the service was excellent, very attentive to our needs, fresh fish and meat dishes were simple and perfectly cooked. It would be advisable to book on weekend breakfast
