Anarkali - Concord
Anarkali
Description
Anarkali Restaurant offers a mix of experiences, with diners praising the flavorful dishes like paneer and keema stuffed naan and chicken Tikka Tandoori, while others express dissatisfaction with overcooked items such as chicken tikka kabob and naan. Although some patrons enjoy the reasonable prices and generous portions, complaints arise regarding the blandness of certain curries, slow service, and cleanliness issues. However, many customers regard it as one of the best places for Indian and Pakistani cuisine in the Bay Area, frequently returning for favorites like chicken biryani and achari chicken. Overall, it seems this spot has potential but needs attention to quality and service consistency.

This was the first time I received the wrong food from Anarkali. Instead of lamb biryani, I received vegetable biryani. Although it was tasty, it was not as filling as the lamb biryani. Anarkali is my favorite restaurant, so I only deducted 1 star, but I was very disappointed.
Anarkali has been the top-notch food delivery service in this area. They have never gotten my order wrong, there are never any spills or missing items, and the food is always delivered hot and ready to enjoy.
Best Pakistani and Indian restaurant in the Bay Area in terms of prices, portions, and flavor especially the chicken tandoori and biryani. Bring your apetite when you come here you'll enjoy the food.
My friend and I came here this afternoon before our Dollar Tree trip, as we were both quite hungry. I had bookmarked Anarkali on the recommendation of fellow Yelper Harvey K but hadn't had the chance to try it until today. My friend really likes it and has eaten there before. I had the veggie tikka masala and my friend had the butter chicken. She also ordered garlic naan, rice, samosas, and the gulab jaman. I had a piece of garlic naan and a little rice. The tikka masala definitely had a kick but the naan, rice, and the raita balanced out the heat. Though I forgot to request it mild, the spice was not unbearable for me. As another reviewer pointed out, the naan was doughy, which I agree with and like. Both the naan and rice were not dry at all. Love that they had complimentary chai. The restaurant was pretty empty when we were there. You order at the counter and they bring the items to you. Our interactions with the staff were minimal but they were polite and brought the food out quickly. Yes, it's a hole in the wall place. The quality of the food fat outweighs the ambiance, hence the 5-star rating. Prices are very reasonable. The tikka masala was $10 and the vegetarian dishes range from $9-11. Seafood dishes range from $12-13. We will be back!
