HOLE IN THE WALL! CASH ONLY Parking lot is small but suffice and the restaurant is super tiny but its worth it. It shares a lot in a tiny plaza. The outside looks rough but this lady knows how to make authentic korean food with love. Shes super sweet and you totally want her to adopt you. She even hooked it up with a side of kimchi soup that was decadent af. It was the perfect amount of spice yummmmmm The portion was so generous I had leftovers. My dish came with bean sprouts, seasoned cucumbers, zucchini, kimchi, and radish kimchi. The tables have sriracha, teriyaki sauce and pepper. I ordered beef short ribs which were flavorful and moist! She asks if you want teriyaki sauce on it but I think the flavor stands on itself. Charred to perfection, I highly recommend this dish and coming here.
This place is a hidden gem in Compton. Sunny makes great homemade Korean food and runs it all herself. She does it with such a great positive attitude too. You're sure to get a great meal and a smile coming here. The plates are a little more pricey than most other takeout spots but the portions and service make up for it in my opinion.
This little hole in the wall has some of the best food I've ever had in my life! The chicken was charred to perfection and the short ribs were juicy and tender. The sides were really delicious too! Its made with a lot of love by the cutest, sweetest woman ever! I'll definitely be back for another short rib and chicken plate!
The reviews previous to this one did not disappoint! Mama Sunshine is so sweet and thoughtful. It seems to be just her working in the restaurant and when I came in, she asked me if I wanted teriyaki, if l liked kimchi (and she threw some in! , etc. The beef short ribs are something like $14 (the menu photo is old but it was an enormous portion of food. Will absolutely be back.
I passed by this place a few times and it was just not registering in my mind that I am actually seeing Korean BBQ right by the 710 freeway and Alondra Blvd., in Compton... So one day, I decided to stop in and give it a go. The owner is the sweetest lady you can ever meet. She is no nonsense in her business but when you order, she 'll tell you all about her food and how she prepares it and how her rice is washed 3 times and she uses a different low starch rice and all kimchi is made in house by herself with her family recipe and not store bought and so on and so on. She 's awesome. I saw her take out the meat to grill and load up on my side dishes which I ate up. She brought out refills for the side dishes and made sure I was full which I was. The prices aren 't bad at all. The feeling I got was that I was actually eating at my aunt 's house with how she treated me and kept making sure I was full. (Except for the paying part, that is) The strip mall it 's in looks abandoned and I think she is the last business that is open. That 's fine, because it just means more parking for everyone who comes here. They used to have 4 tables in here but I guess it 's all take out now so I will have to figure out how to eat inside the car while parked around the area.
