I hadn't visited Subway in about five months, and I was surprised to see that the tax on my receipt had increased from just 27 cents to $1.70. When I inquired about this, I was informed that it included an "eat in fee" for hot food, meaning they charged us for both heating our food and dining in as one fee. Normally, I don't eat in at Subway, and I've never encountered such a fee before. I expressed that the tax information was unclear and suggested that they should put up a sign to explain additional fees more clearly. Moreover, the employee didn't even ask if we were dining in or taking our food to go; she simply handed us bags without any further discussion. It felt dishonest for the manager to charge us retroactively without acknowledging that we weren’t charged correctly in the first place, as if she was making unilateral decisions to correct the situation. To make matters worse, she admitted that she wasn't even aware of her company's policy on these fees. It seems like they really struggle to find competent people for management roles.

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. First off, my topping requests were completely overlooked. I had to have my sandwich remade because they added the wrong toppings, even after I clearly specified what I wanted. This included toppings that are significant allergens for the people I was ordering for. On top of that, every sandwich I requested not to be toasted ended up toasted anyway, and the staff were rude when I insisted that they correct my order. The cashier made matters worse. He insisted that I ordered four sandwiches instead of the three I actually had, even after I clarified and the person behind me pointed out that the fourth sandwich was theirs. When I mentioned that I would be paying with gift cards, he mistakenly charged me and then got frustrated when he had to fix his mistake. I also tried to split the payment between a gift card and cash to ensure I had some change, but he ignored my instructions and put all the cash on the gift card instead. He returned all my attempted gift cards without indicating which one had the balance, roughly shoved my sandwiches across the counter so that they nearly fell, and physically turned away to avoid answering any further questions. I've never experienced such poor customer service before. If you're thinking of visiting this location, especially if you have allergy-sensitive ingredients in your order or anything more complicated than a basic sandwich, I advise you to proceed with caution.
