We hadn't made a reservation in advance, but turned up on the day when they opened and we had a very friendly greeti... read more We had such a wonderful day here last week. We hadn't made a reservation in advance, but turned up on the day when they opened and we had a very friendly greeting from the staff who coordinated a table for a late lunch for us....We ended up sitting on the chairs at the front for coffee and pastel del Nata for a while, then later took our table. Lunch was delicious and the service was excellent. It was my birthday and the team did a fun birthday surprise for me. We continued to stay for sunset drinks. It was a blissful day, with great staff, lovely food and a wonderful ambience.

We love the atmosphere here and the food is mostly very good. The only drawback is the restaurant doesn't seem to do much about the annoying amount of flies. One has to literally fight them for the food. The other issue is...the often poor and sometimes very slow service. However, we are used to that now and just factor it in as the Comporta Cafe experience. It's a lovely touch to be able to move to seating in the sand for coffee. A favourite place to go!

This is one of the top worst places I've been. Avoid at all costs.

It was a very mixed experience... the good: the location is just fabolous, directly at the beach, relaxed chic, great views the food was great, a menu with traditional...dishes as well as more modern options. Fish, meat, seafood, vegetarian, great dess ersts and drinks Price was okish for the locatiopn and quality of food the bad: Service the first time we went there was really bad. We had a waiter that really did not have any interest ..or decency) at all to provide for a pleasant or at least profesional experience. On the other side, the second time we went we had a great, attentive and friendy experience But really the biggest setback is that there are trillions of flies everywhere. On the tables, on your food, sometimes in your drinks, on your skin, everywhere. It is just disgusting and they seem not to take any measures against it. People cover their drinks and food with napkins for keeping them safe off the flies.
