We had a wonderful dinner and the staff could not have been nicer. We started off outside to watch the sunset and it was windy. The staff quickly brought us all blankets without us even having to ask. The portions are large. The fresh sea...bass was excellent, the steak to cook on a rock was fun and the pasta with the shrimp and clams was so tasty and easily could have been shared by 3 people. The appetizer of pepper... What Iris Haberl doesn't like about Ilha do Arroz:
Very bad experience with this place. We ordered three starters and waited 50 minutes just to learn that they don't have them. And that's after asking the staff about the order twice and being told it was coming. Food is more expensive than in the centre of Lisbon. Staff very inefficient and unpolite. We won't come again. I had not been to Comporta for almost 2 years and, when I go, I tend to stop at Ilha do Arroz for lunch. This time , it was really one of my best experiences there. I rarely ate (if ever) ate clams like that:...just still feeling the sea and succulent for their size and incredibly fresh taste. We were a group of friends having different things but I opted for some linguini with Carabineiros prawns . Linguini were cooked al dente (very, very rare in Portugal) but the dish was not at all the italian way as it had a very deep, tasty and liquid gravy. Incredibly delicious. My friends opted for a large grilled sea bass, also elicious
Bad service, 1h30to have your dishes. Finally the waiter let your plate fall. They don t really care about you!!! And then tones of mosquitos are invading the terrace! I do not recomend
When you arrive in a restaurant with at least 6 table available (with half of them without any reservado sign) and the waiter tells you have to wait 1 hour before getting a table is just so uncool that I won’t recommend that place
