This time , it was really one of my best experiences th... read more I had not been to Comporta for almost 2 years and, when I go, I tend to stop at Ilha do Arroz for lunch. This time , it was really one of my best experiences there. I rarely ate (if ever) ate clams like that:...just still feeling the sea and succulent for their size and incredibly fresh taste. We were a group of friends having different things but I opted for some linguini with Carabineiros prawns . Linguini were cooked al dente (very, very rare in Portugal) but the dish was not at all the italian way as it had a very deep, tasty and liquid gravy. Incredibly delicious. My friends opted for a large grilled sea bass, also elicious

A superb setting on the beach which was not at all crowded. We ordered fish of the day which was Turbot, OMG delicious, perfectly cooked, simply grilled, salt and pepper, squeeze of lemon, and fruity olive oil. The veggies were also...perfectly cooked/seasoned. I wonder if Michelin starred restaurants like Elkano (San Sebastian) or Le Bernardin (NYC) can match this?
