Was Alex St Swiss at Ahra a mag?
The deep-fried sushi rolls were excellent, and we really enjoyed our appetizers as well. The staff was very friendly, and the restaurant has a cozy atmosphere that makes it a nice spot for dinner. Everything was incredibly fresh and tasted great. I would definitely recommend this place. View all feedback.
What Kirsten McCrea dislikes about Ahra:
The sushi here is not bad, however unfortunately the donburi and yaki-soba are not very good. The donburi has no fresh vegetables (just cooked carrots, cabbage, and onion in lots and lots of teriyaki sauce). The yaki-soba is the same, but on noodles instead of rice. It was very oily. The bibimbap was good, and had a lot more vegetables.I don’t like leaving less than positive reviews, but we all regretted not getting... View all feedback.
The staff at this restaurant is fantastic! They have a great gluten-free menu that is easy to navigate, and they even offer gluten-free soy sauce. The sunomono salad was delicious and is now my go-to place for it in the valley. This restaurant has quickly become one of my top sushi spots, and I will definitely be coming back. Great job, AHRA!
The food at this restaurant is incredibly fresh and delicious. Gluten free options are clearly indicated on the menu, and they even offer gluten free soy sauce.
The amazing food! Wow! great portions and great service! I have recommended the AHRA to many of my friends, family and business associates about the quality that you will find at this tiny little restaurant! Give it a try and you will be pleasantly surprised!
First time here. It's head and tails above the usual filling stations I've eaten at locally. Comox has an issue with Asian food. It's generally dumbed down and comes across at food court fair. I'm not saying the Japanese restaraunts in the Valley are horrible. Their not. Their OK. On the same level you'd get at a bargain outfit in Vancouver . Ahra is different . It's better and is punching well beyond its weight for the area. As an example . Tempura. Something I go out for and don't mind paying a premium for when it's surprises you. And it does. The Nigiri was also on par with anything you'd get in a place with serious competition. The rolls were also great as part of the seafood combo. The portions aren't huge if your a big eater so order more. Prices are in line with the area. Give it a try. Well worth supporting this business in their attempt to elevate this cuisine in the area . 8/10
