The ch... read more I had traveled from Atlanta to look at apartments nearby, and as I was walking to my car, the restaurant's sign caught my eye, prompting me to go inside. The chef greeted me with the warmth of someone welcoming royalty. His kindness, personality, and enthusiasm for having me there made the entire experience delightful. Instead of sticking to the menu, I told him to surprise me with whatever he thought I would enjoy. He prepared an exquisite meal featuring octopus, duck, ice cream, and coffee. Additionally, he shared his inspiring testimony of faith with me, which touched my heart deeply. While I dined, I was inspired to write a poem about this amazing chef: “Epic” On a hot, sunny, beautiful Summer day, I discovered a charming restaurant tucked away. The word “Epic” paints a story of heroes, Of exciting journeys and noteworthy events that flow. In this tale, Chef Jamie Keating is the star, His adventurous path never feels too far. While exploring Downtown Columbus, hunger struck, I wandered into “Epic,” and luck was on my side. Jamie welcomed me at the door with grace, Showing kindness and warmth, creating a perfect space. He shared his incredible journey and humble tale, A testament of adversities that did not pale. His story resonated; I found solace and light, Witnessing God’s promises and faith shining bright. The food and atmosphere were one-of-a-kind, But it was Jamie's faith tale that I truly needed to find. He crafted for me dishes unique and divine, Creative and delicious, not even on the line. The restaurant features a family-friendly theme with touches of purple, which is a color Jamie's children associate with him, and I wholeheartedly agree. I recently celebrated my "21st" birthday there, enjoying the most incredible food, outstanding service, and even a visit from the chef. I’m already looking forward to our next special occasion. The servers are top-notch, demonstrating a deep knowledge of the menu and offering insightful descriptions and thoughtful recommendations. The chefs are exceptionally talented, skillfully blending molecular gastronomy techniques with innovative culinary artistry to create dishes that are both visually and gastronomically delightful. From the tiny wasabi pearls served as a palate cleanser between courses to the exquisitely prepared kangaroo loin and the delectable crab cakes, each dish is carefully balanced and simply perfect. The sides and accompaniments are every bit as impressive as the main courses, and the desserts—like the indulgent crème brûlée and creamy risotto with chanterelles—are a must-try. The wine pairings are excellent, and the elegant ambiance enhances the overall experience. There aren’t enough words to convey just how rare and exciting a dining experience at this restaurant truly is. The entire staff has impeccable timing in serving courses and refreshing drinks. You won’t find an experience like this anywhere else in the Southeast—it’s absolutely something you cannot miss. Our family values this experience and plans to return as often as possible, with aspirations to enjoy the chef’s table soon!

In the kitchen, Caleb and Chuck were fantastic, taking the time to explain each dish. Our server, Katherine, did an exceptional job as well. We can't wait to return!
