Sonic Drive-In - Columbia
Sonic Drive-In
Description
Sonic on Garners Ferry Rd showcases a mix of experiences, revealing both strengths and weaknesses. While the streamlined app ordering and speedy delivery enhance convenience, inaccuracies in order fulfillment significantly mar the dining experience. Many customers report receiving incorrect items or cold food, such as disappointing fries and previously cooked corn dogs. However, the restaurant excels in providing delicious ice cream and freshly made sandwiches, although staff knowledge of daily specials could use improvement. Despite the inconsistencies, friendly service and classic menu items like chili mini dogs continue to draw repeat visitors, making it a familiar stop for locals.

There were homeless individuals everywhere, which was quite unsettling. The service was sluggish, and the staff wasn't very friendly. On the bright side, the app offers half-priced drinks. If you forget to place your order in advance, you can simply pull into a parking spot, order through the app, and then check in right away.
The ice cream here is always wonderfully creamy and delicious—definitely a treat! The sandwiches are made fresh, but the staff could use some training regarding the Everyday Deals, like the Double Cheeseburger. We ordered two sandwiches and repeatedly asked them not to add mustard or pickles. The staff insisted that the sandwich doesn’t come with mustard, and while our sandwiches were indeed freshly made and had no pickles, they were still loaded with mustard, along with ketchup and onions. Please take the time to learn the menu better!
Last night, I went through the drive-thru, and the truck in front of me was asked to pull forward to wait for their food. I was asked to do the same. After waiting about 10 minutes, I received the wrong order. I parked in a stall to let them know about the mistake, and 15 minutes passed without any response. When I pressed the button again, they told me that my order was on the tray and was "next." Another 15 minutes went by, still with no food, and when I pressed the button again, I saw the truck that had accidentally taken my order return to get their food fixed before I did. Finally, the manager came out, saying they would remake my order. Keep in mind, I had already been told that my food was made and was about to come out. They repeatedly misled me and left me waiting while they stared at me. If I hadn't kept pressing the button, I'm not sure anyone would have addressed my issue.
Have breakfast burritos gotten smaller? The service and food were great, but I can't help but wonder about the size of the burrito. This one was quite small for $2.99.
I've eaten here multiple times, and each experience has been disappointing! Currently, I'm sitting in my car, waiting for them to correct my order for the third time. This shouldn't be so complicated—everyone in our group ordered tater tots, but we ended up with a mix of fries and a few tots. It's really simple, and the service is terrible! I have a feeling this will be my last visit to this location!
