I hate to do this, but they need a review for the person looking for a simple breakfast. I was glad to see this restaurant open since the last one left resulted in no breakfast options in Columbia. I finally decide to give this place a shot. Walked in, and it looked like no one really cared what your dining experience would be like. Dirty carpet, restroom that looked like a truck stop and hadn't been cleaned for days (which is always an indication of how clean the kitchen is, trust me), and tired old booths. Ordered from their one page menu to find my omelet come with avocados that were not ripe and undercooked potatoes. I really had high hopes for this place, or another option for eating out in Columbia.
My kids and I were in search of an easy lunch on our way to check out some caverns and stopped into this place because it was close to where we were staying. We were greeted right away when we walked in and seated immediately. Unfortunately, we took one look at the menu and realized there was nothing for my uber picky 8 yr old who had been promised it was his turn to choose lunch. I explained to the waitress and she was so sweet and understanding. I would definitely give this one another shot when we're back as she explained they are new and will be adding a children's menu. The burgers fries I saw being served as we were walking out looked worth the trip, with heaping piles of fries next to them. Yum! 4 stars for good service hopefully 5 when we actually eat!
The restaurant being open was a welcome sight to see, it had been closed for a while. Upon entering, the stench of dirty carpet saturated everything. The menus had dried food caked on them. Upon having a mix of breakfast and lunch, my family was subjected to overpriced, mediocre food that left our tummies on the queazy side for a couple hours afterward. The staff was friendly, service was good. All other aspects if the restaurant failed. We will not be returning.
We are from Hawaii and we found this nice little restaurant that had great food and awesome customer service! The food was freash from our ice tea too our homemade french fries! The prices we found reasonable! We would go back again!
I hate to write about small town businesses, especially local ones. This place is so run down but sometimes the best food comes from the most surprising places. That was not the case here. We waited over half an hour for our breakfast, there were maybe 8 other patrons there at at the time. When our breakfast finally arrived, two out of three of us were served already cold food. The waitress served two of us completely black burned toast! What?? Who has the audacity to bring that to a paying customer? I think the (unprofessionally dressed in a t-shirt and baseball cap) cook was making orders one egg at a time. Such a shame this place was so bad, it has the potential to be a much better small town breakfast spot.
