Patrons rave about the generous portions and comforting dishes, such as fried catfish, pork chops, and cornbread dressing, all prepared to perfection. While service may fluctuate with busy times, the overall atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a hint of nostalgia for regulars returning after time away. Many guests fondly recall the exceptional roast beef and blackberry cobbler, affirming that this culinary gem offers a taste of home that keeps them coming back for more.
This is my GO TO place for good food. Yes, I was tired and hungry and did not realize how much food I ordered.....but it was still tasty and plentiful. In fact, I had enough for 2 days. Couldn't leave without ordering blackberry cobbler. (ate all of that)...rice gravy, pork chop, fried Okra, potato salad Mac cheese and cornbread
Moving back home from Georgia, I have really missed this restaurant because they don't have any in Atlanta or its vicinity. I am so glad that I now live close enough to frequent here again. Everything is always amazing definitely a must-try if you haven't had it where you're from! Home cooked food that melts in your mouth.
Had fried catfish, black-eyed beans (with diced onion added at my request), and a double portion of cornbread dressing. The meal was delicious. Our server was as nice as she could be, but she was also a bit overwhelmed (I feel like they were understaffed when I visited). Fish was amazing, black-eyed beans were good/okay, and the dressing was (as usual) excellent.
Always happy with Lizards Thicket. They catered for us seniors. Smaller potions,at a very reasonable price. The staff always so nice.
It's been a long time since I was there and I was really happy with the people and the fact that the same kind of things I would like to have been there for the weekend as I would love to have some of the roast beef they always had on Sunday if I remember correctly that was always soooo yummmmy .
