I went to this restaurant with some colleagues from work, and we had the wonderful opportunity to have the amazing award-winning Kat, the Managing Head Bartender, mix our first round of drinks. She did not disappoint! The food was incredibly delicious, and the portion sizes were just right. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to treat themselves to a fantastic evening at a great bar! View all feedback.
What Miller Weber doesn't like about Bourbon:
Our server was very pleasant and professional. However, my entree was not good at all. Smaller portion that what I’ve seen served. Rice was not cooked; sent back and must have been given the same rice again. View all feedback.
Such an amazing experience. Vibe was good, server was amazing, food was incredible.
Great bar for conversations with a friend. Not too obnoxious or drunk either.
Very disappointed. First of all I felt like I was an imposition to the bartender. He never once smiled or made me feel welcomed. My fish was very undercooked and it took at least 20 minutes to get it back, by which time my friend was finished with his dinner. I asked the bartender to choose my wine and he totally forgot about it. I finally asked and got a so-so glass of wine from a different bartender. Very disappointed.
Rather overrated versus what I have heard others say. I'm of Cajun heritage, the gumbo and the etouffe were pretty basic, both felt they were missing a lot of depth I'd expect in those dishes . There's nothing really wrong with their dishes but they were entirely forgettable and the gumbo was bland for a gumbo. I tried my wife's shrimp and grits and it too lacked depth. (I also see the owner saying to another reviwer they have never heard complaints about their gumbo, well I'm here to tell y'all it is boring and underdeveloped and the other reviwer is correct you'd not get served that in a respected restaurant in Louisiana . For a restaurant, the rice definitely needs work and that would be easy to address but the rice is typical of what I'd expect in a home kitchen. There should also be more rice, while plating was nice I do not understand skimping on something as cheap as rice. Staff was friendly enough. The portions are extremely small. I had two entrees to myself and still left hungry. It's good for Columbia food I suppose but that's a very low bar. (Also as an aside it's in really poor form to bad mouth your 1 star reviewers on here which I'm only now seeing looking through reviews. Really doesn't matter if they are right or wrong. . I would have considered coming back, but the way I see the owner responding does make me feel like I should try again, I do wonder if I will get such a response since my review is overall negative even though there was absolutely no drama during our visit and I have edited my review pulling my punches a bit as a result. I really don't want to fight with people on the Internet over food just wanted to share my opinion.
Excellent dining experience and highly recommend; a must try. Several other places we visited during our trip were mediocre and ok, but we wouldn't go out of our way to visit again. Bourbon made the trip worthwhile, and even our kids loved the experience. Exceptional service coupled with delightful drinks and flavorful upscale cajun cuisine made our experience truly special. We have added Bourbon to our must stop locations and hope to visit again soon.
