Monsoon colombo has a pretty impressive menu. it has also attached a bar to it. the restaurant itself needed to store as we do not find it clean and tidy. many colors peel the walls (I guess that happens in monsoon). Eating was only average. we ordered pork and they were only in order. (there are better places for pork chops in colombo). the Vietnamese rolling was only average and so was the Thai Papaya salad. I would give him a mistake if I had the choice.
Family of 5 vegetarians vegans had dinner. This is an upscale restaurant in a beautiful location in a fairy-lit alley. There were enough vegan options to satisfy us and the bags of beancurd were particularly delicious. Price was ok cost by Sri Lanka standards, but reasonable according to British standards. It is not licensed, but we were offered beers that we realized after they went to buy elsewhere, and they were expensive like the kids moçktails.
Very nice Pan Asian cuisine. We had a huge group have lunch there. Pad thai, beef curry, papaya salad, and Thai chicken curry were delicious. Nice cold beer and water as well. Definitely worth stopping by while in Colombo.
Really tasty restaurant and most of the staff knows what vegan means. I have the official list of what can be made vegan. The black pepper tofu is the absolute BEST! The gado gado is rubbish though, literally raw veg in a bowl. Soups and Salads: 1) Som Tum Papaya Salad (originally it is not a vegan dish, but upon request we can do it without the shrimp paste and fish sauce) 2) Gado Gado Bali Vegan 3) Tom Yam Goong (Originally it is not a vegan dish, it has to be requested as a vegan dish without prawns and fish sauce) Sharing Plates/ Starters 1) Goi Cuon Rolls Vegan 2) Black Pepper Tofu Vegan Mains: 1) Phad Thai (has to be requested to be made vegan) 2) Tauhu Bakar Vegan 3) Longtong Vegan Vegetable Sides: 1) Chilli Morning Glory (has to be requested as a Vegan dish without the shrimp paste) 2) Purple Eggplant Vegan 3) Javanese Mixed Vegetables Vegan 4) Potato Sambal Vegan 5) Long Bean Stir Fry Vegan 6) Achar Pickle Vegan Rice Dishes: 1) Khao Phad Jay Vegan 2) Coconut Rice Vegan 3) Jasmine Rice Vegan Sambals: 1) Sambal Rica Rica Vegan 2) Sambal Tomat Vegan No desserts are vegan!!
