This is the restaurant located at the Relais Il Canalicchio resort. If you're a guest at the resort, chances are you're eating here several times. The food is excellent and changes every day. Simple, fresh ingredients make sure for delicious dinners. The breakfast buffet is OK. It doesn't change so you get tired of it after a few days, but it meets its purpose. Overall, it's fine for a simple morning starter. The staff at the restaurant is outstanding. I can't say enough about how great the service is at the restaurant. Every person working there was top notch. Pricing can be a little high if you go for several courses. The starters are over priced in my opinion, so I'd opt for pasta and a main dish or add starter with just one of the other courses. Serving portions are very good, so if you do go for multiple courses, be prepared to be FULL. I over ate on several nights. Overall, a very nice restaurant with a view to die for. The Umbrian hills are right there while you enjoy your meal and a nice glass of local wine. Buon appetito!

This fabulous restaurant is the Relais Il Canalicchio. It is so homey and rustic with sweeping views of the Umbrian countryside. The restaurant serves buffet breakfast, ala carte lunch and four course dinners daily. The menu covers all the local dishes and your favorite desserts. We had half board, so we ate breakfast and dinner here. The breakfast buffet was varied and had a large selection of pastries, meats, breads, scrambled egg and sausage trays. We also signed up for the cooking class with Chef Giuseppe. He taught us to make his specialty, fresh pasta ala Norcina and Tiramisu for dessert. The dinner is a 4 course dinner that we could choose 3 courses. We most often paid for the extra course so we could try everything. Every night the menu was spectacular with so many wonderful choices that I could not choose so I enlisted Luigi , the Maitre D to assist me in choosing. He never steered me wrong--the wild boar rago, the pumpkin risotto, prawns in mint sauce, goose cacciatori, spaghetti carbonara and the local favorite Pasta ala Norcina. Chef Giuseppe is a master and each dish was prepared fresh and presented beautifully. We asked for him to come out one night to our table and the room erupted in applause from the other diners. In fact the whole staff provided a white glove family service. It was incredible. A special mention to Gennaro who was a master with his table service and wine opening with flair!
