This was my second visit to a charming French bistro in Cold Spring, where New Yorkers typically retreat by train for their hiking adventures. Not only does this place serve up decent food, but it also features showers (see photos) so you can wash off all that hiking sweat. Plus, it has clean bathrooms that are perfect for, well, other pressing needs. View all feedback.
What Tony Frangieh doesn't like about Brasserie Le Bouchon:
I went to this restaurant for lunch with my family and ordered a variety of dishes. Overall, everything was fine except for the steak sandwich, which was not at all edible. I'm not sure what type of meat they used. We informed our waiter about the issue, but no one from the kitchen came out to address the problem. View all feedback.
Wonderful atmosphere, charming setting. Friendly staff plus delicious food!! Great menu selections !
Nice little French spot in downtown Cold Springs perfect to recharge after going on a hike! We ordered the Escargot $16), the Lamb Burger $24), the...
I will say the only thing keeping this place away from A 1 star is the service . Very nice people but the food is atrocious. The scenery is very old school...
I decided to come to the midday after the great reviews, and I was underwhelmed. I used to eat in good French restaurants and was excited to try another. we were welcomed and sitting outside. first annoyed, they have no straws. it was a small problem, but because it made so much ice in the drinks, not with a straw to drink more difficult. I don't understand with plastic, but they had no (I asked) sangria was good. my man said his Pinot-Grgio wasn't great. my son had a hard time drinking his soda. I decided to try the goat cheese tea cup. for $13, we have two puff bags with a piece of goat cheese and an Arugula salad. I could buy a whole box of puff bakery plus a log of goat cheese and make a whole plate for less than that. it tasted good, but was very simple and probably overpriced by about five dollars. I ordered my son the croque monsiuer, that was more broth than to jump, although it was tasteful. I had the meerrot lachsentrée, who was in order. the salmon was cooked nicely, but needed salt despite the sauce, along with the spatula. menu said “stretched”, salmon was clearly grilled. the kartoffels were probably the best on the teller. I tasted a bit of steak from my man's steak sandwich; the flesh needed salt. service was good and mostly attentive, but the waiter was not friendly in the least. so overall, while nothing was absolutely bad, it was not great either. I wouldn't return.
Positiw: very friendly and attentive staff. the chief was always there, chatting with the costumes. the food was very delicious. we had the cassoulet and the duck jam. though both were good, they try. it was amazing. (for all Brazilians out there it is like a French version of feijoada, but with white beans) the dessert was also very good. we had the apple pie and the cream bubble. both were delicious! con: the sangria was not super delicious and it was served with fruit juices and not the actual fresh fruit. ps: the dame beside us had a cheesecake that looked amazing, although small. ps2: I'm sorry about the half-eating food picture.
