A small and friendly cafe just off one of the main streets in Cognac. A bit dingy inside, but you are encouraged to eat out in the sun on the pavement. Good cafe food Mrs D went for Omelette with champignons with salad, I went for La Landaise salad tomatoes, smoked duck, lardons. Both simple but filling. Not the most elegant, but a friendly, authentic, quick and cheap lunch the total bill was €27 including a pichet of rosé and a bottle of sparkling water. Not a bad option if you are looking for something quick and simple.

On a day trip to Cognac, looking for somewhere relaxed and informal for lunch but away from the main touristy restaurants. This wee place was just what we wanted. Tasty omelettes, salads and a nice Cognac from the place across the road... felt very authentic.

This doesn’t look as good as some of the other cafes with its plastic chairs and tables but the food was lovely and service excellent. Burger of the day for the adults was with goats cheese, salad and a honey mayo cooked perfectly. Our 3 year old was very happy with chicken and chips and an ice cream to follow. So don’t be put off by decor just enjoy your food!!

We didn't want a big lunch but between the four of us we had a tasty omelette, a steak and chips and two salads and we all enjoyed our choices along with some beer and wine. It was a reasonable price and a pleasant experience. Service was friendly but a little slow. That said we weren't in a hurry so it didn't bother us. I'm happy to recommend it :

After an interesting walk around Cognac old town, we found this cafe. The plat du jour (bavette à l’échalote) at Euro 8.50 caught our eye and we stopped for lunch. This is a classic French bistro dish and the cafe managed it just right. Simple but delicious, served with a big portion of frites (chips) and lettuce. There was a small charge for mustard, ketchup, etc. Friendly server. Clean washroom. On the downside, dogs were allowed in the cafe. Fortunately we were seated outside.
