We stayed two nights in a yurt. It was the most relaxed weekend ever! Staff are friendly and helpful, but they also offer space. Restaurant Essen was great. Nice place to stay with a fascinating walk around the orchard. If you need a break from the hectic, this is the place to stay! Rooms: The first time to stay in a yurt. Wonderful space that leaves the lively world behind. You see the stars in the night through the... View all feedback.
We had a wonderful birthday dinner with my kids last night. I really appreciated the extensive selection of vegetarian dishes. The chickpea pot pie was absolutely delicious! I also tried the cocktail flight, which was enjoyable, but I suspect the alcohol content was quite low. The brownie dessert was generous enough to share. We chose to sit outside in a beautifully covered and heated area, perfect for any weather, and there was even a lovely blanket rack for those who might get chilly. The dining experience was mostly self-serve, but the staff brought our food to the table, making it truly delightful. The grounds are stunning, so if you have some time, definitely take a stroll before or after your meal. I do wish they were open a little later; we arrived at 6 PM and they close at 8 PM. Thank you for your warm hospitality!
A casual rustic farmhouse venue with lots of windows flung open to let in the fresh air. Very cool! Menus are at the tables and you head to the counter to order. Enjoyed the in pulled pork sandwich and cider (of course! But the special pizza looked good too! Friendly service and wonderful ambiance.
This may be the best lamb burger I've ever tried! The flavors worked perfectly together, and the side salad was delightful. You can really taste the quality of the food here—it's genuinely good. The next day, we enjoyed the steak and mushroom dish along with the chickpea pie, and they were both incredible. We also indulged in their homemade apple pie, which was a perfect finish to our meal. And let's not forget the cider; it was excellent, especially the Cowichan Valley Cider. My wife was a big fan of the apple liqueur as well. Overall, it was a fantastic meal in a lovely, relaxing setting. I highly recommend this place!
I visited this cidery with a friend tonight, and it was such a delightful experience! The Christmas lights added a charming and festive touch. I really enjoy their cider, and the hot mulled cider was particularly tasty and perfect for the season. I tried the chicken pie and the eggnog bread pudding, both of which were absolutely delicious! Although it's an "order at the bar" setup, the staff were always available to assist us and were incredibly friendly. I can’t wait to come back!
Love this place set in the countryside of the south portion of Vancouver Island. Quiet, scenic, peaceful and comforting. Close to the highway (5+ min drive) in the amazing area of Cowichan Bay. Now about Ciders, a great selection for every taste; you can do various flights or pints of your favorites. From light and dry to sweet, flavourful and even delicious apple liquor
