The service at this restaurant was excellent and the food was outstanding. Our server was friendly and very knowledgeable. The daily specials were exceptional. My wife and I both shared our meals (I ordered the fig and pancetta flatbread) and they were both delicious. I wished I could have stayed there all day just to eat another meal.

The breakfast is excellent and reasonably priced. It would be fantastic if they offered fried bread with the dish.

The menu at Maxwells was extensive, offering a variety of sandwiches, salads, and hearty dishes. We both decided to try the falafel wrap with halloumi and hummus, even though my boyfriend's grilled sandwich craving had disappeared. We were seated at a slightly awkward table for two in a corner, but the atmosphere was lively with families enjoying Sunday lunch. The clientele seemed to range from young children to older adults, indicating that this was a popular spot for locals. Our waiter gave us cutlery, although it seemed like he could have washed his hands better before handling them. Despite that, everyone was friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. The food was good, although we were surprised by the hint of curry flavor in the falafel, which didn't taste bad but wasn't very authentic. The wraps came with a side salad, coleslaw, and raita, served in hot ramekins which heated up the salads. Overall, we found the meal to be good value for money and very tasty.

I had to send my food back for the first time ever tonight because the burger was completely pink in the middle and fell apart just by touching it...

Love the variety of food on the menu. Service great as always. We popped in with our 3 year old and she was given some crayons and a menu to colour in...

The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere with reasonable prices. Even on cold days, there are heaters to keep you comfortable, and the food looks fantastic!

Great team great atmosphere chill out and enjoy the outside seating......with a coffee and a fag

Breakfast menu on Sunday's is fabulous it's not available on Saturday though

The other reviews say otherwise, but I couldn't find any vegan options. Maybe I'm a hardliner, but not having one single vegan option seems a bit ridiculous. I communicated that I could not have animal products, and they were happy to adapt the vegetarian breakfast, which was perfectly nice. It's just a shame that there was nothing that didn't need substitutions. I would have loved their take on a vegan breakfast, but unfortunately there wasn't anything like that.

Can not wait to come back for more. Separate vegan menu, all day breakfast offered and lots of other delightful things such as creamy mushrooms on toast and pastas.

Maxwell's has a nice sounding vegan menu offering breakfast, lunch and dinner options and I believe they have vegan desserts although they were not on the menu I saw. There is lots of outside seating, so we sat in the sunshine on a lovely Saturday morning just after they opened. I ordered avocado and tomato salsa on wholemeal toast, with a full breakfast for hubby, with two large decaf Americanos and sat outside enjoying the sunshine. The food was delicious, although hubby realised the baked beans were missing off his breakfast, after he had eaten it and we were puzzled they serve dry toast, when vegan margarine is easily available in every supermarket. We enjoyed the decaf Americano coffees so much, we ordered a second one whilst watching the world go by, as Maxwell's is in a great spot for people watching. Would definitely return as vegan breakfast in Clitheroe is not easily available.

Had a nice meal at Maxwell 's tonight- zucchini 'burger ' (was on panini-style bread) was great and trio of sorbets delicious! Great to have a dedicated vegan menu.

The other reviews say differently, but I couldn't find any vegan options. Maybe. I'm a hardliner, but no vegan option seems a bit ridiculous. I communicated that I could not have animal products, and they were happy to adapt the vegetarian breakfast, which was perfectly beautiful. it's just a scandal that there was nothing that didn't need substitutions. I'd like them to have picked up a vegan breakfast, but unfortunately there was no such thing.
