The pub in Connemara offers a cozy atmosphere and affordable drinks with fast service. Despite some encounters with a rude individual, the overall experience was positive, making it a recommendable spot for a pint of local beer. Visitors enjoyed the traditional Irish stew and the welcoming couple bartenders. The venue provided an authentic local atmosphere, contributing to a good night's sleep at the attached B&B. While some may find it overrun with tourists, others appreciate the unspoiled charm of the establishment. Overall, a must-visit in Clifden for an authentic Connemara atmosphere.

Vaughan's offers a very cozy and comfortable atmosphere as soon as you step inside. The drinks are reasonably priced, and the service is quick and efficient. The restrooms are clean and odor-free, which is a big plus. I was impressed by the great menu and would have loved to stay for a few hours, but I was on a tight schedule. I’ll definitely be returning soon. View all feedback.
What Nicolas C dislikes about Vaughan's:
The most unpleasant Irish man I've ever met works or lingers at Vaughan's. When I parked my bike outside the bar, he came out at midday, shouted at me, and even pushed my bike. I tried to start a polite conversation, but he seemed not to understand basic courtesy. The people nearby were visibly shocked. Fortunately, Vaughan's menu aside, there are other friendlier places in town to enjoy. View all feedback.
Nice place for a pint of local Clifden beer or Guinness. Also not overpriced No music (so good place for conversations) but a real local atmosphere with beautiful welcoming couple as bartender.
This cozy little pub appears to be a popular hangout for locals. Although the ambiance could use some improvement, the bartender Joe is incredibly welcoming. There's also a pool table for patrons to enjoy.
Vaughan's is the most fascinating place in town, free from crowds of tourists. On our second visit, the darkened windows made it feel like a true local hangout. The music was fantastic the first night, and we’d have enjoyed sharing a "malu cachu"—a Welsh phrase for a lively chat with strangers that’s fun in the moment but probably forgotten by morning—with the friendly locals.
Great value for money. Lovely host and cosy bar. There's a pool table too! Bed was comfortable and room was clean. Good location too in this quaint little town!
