Vaughan's - Clifden
Vaughan's
Description
The pub in Connemara offers a cozy atmosphere and affordable drinks with fast service. Despite some encounters with a rude individual, the overall experience was positive, making it a recommendable spot for a pint of local beer. Visitors enjoyed the traditional Irish stew and the welcoming couple bartenders. The venue provided an authentic local atmosphere, contributing to a good night's sleep at the attached B&B. While some may find it overrun with tourists, others appreciate the unspoiled charm of the establishment. Overall, a must-visit in Clifden for an authentic Connemara atmosphere.

Great value for money. Lovely host and cosy bar. There's a pool table too! Bed was comfortable and room was clean. Good location too in this quaint little town!
Had a couple of pints, played pool. Craic with the locals, great banter. All the other tourist pubs can go .... themselves. This pub was class.
I stayed for just one night in the rooms on the floor above the pub. The room was small but fully equipped. The atmosphere was clean. The ensuite bathroom had a hot, well-functioning shower. There was a kettle for heating water and making instant coffee or tea. The only downside: there was no hairdryer provided (but I didn't even ask for one... . The pub is very nice, frequented mostly by locals. It has a good selection of whiskeys.
We didnt have any food so cannot comment. Friendly Staff, extremely clean room and very comfortable bed. Sadly we got a bit of extreme bad luck with the couple staying in WB Yeats Room. shouting, arguing, kicking doors. It was peaceful before they checked in and again before they got home from their night out. Such a Pity.
