Feedback
Reviews praise The Swan’s atmosphere, tapas and wine list but note inconsistent food quality, dessert choices and variable service during busy times.
Lovely bar staff and very nice inner garden. Spanish food quite pricey and the interesting sardine dish was not available.
The Swan Inn in Claygate/Esher is no longer a pub. Unbelievably, it serves just one ale, and that ran out while I was hoping to get my second pint poured from the pump. It has an array of fizzy “beers” but mostly euro filth, not real beer. The food is ok but not worth a long drive. It’s a shame. This used to be a proper pub. Not sure what it thinks it is now, but a pub without ale on the pumps is not a pub. If you want a pint, go to the Griffin or the Foley.
Well what can I say! Some of the best tapas I’ve ever had in a lovely and quaint area. And the cherry on top was the service, I was given a FREE Guinness by the lovely lad serving me. Can’t say you’ll also get a free drink it might have just been my looks Over all it’s The swan in is a must go to spot

Although The Swan presents itself as a neighbourhood pub, it quietly operates five modern guest rooms above the bar — a popular choice for weekend visitors who want to pair a night in Esher with the pub's tapas evenings or live-music nights. Guests who stay often request the quieter, lower-floor rooms for a more restful experience.
