If you go, you really should try The Ethel. It 's the best vegan bagel with carrot lox you never even knew existed, but it does, and your life will never be the same after having one bite. If you aren 't vegan, this place might make you question your dietary choices. What Sydney A doesn't like about Orchard Grocer:
I've been ordering from here for months and at first the food was great which is why I continued ordering. But as of late the food quality has been poor. I ordered the Kale Caesar salad it was heavily dressed with barely any bacon or avocado and extremely salty. I'm disappointed because really enjoyed their food. View all feedback.
Oh my gosh, what’s there not to love?! This place is a little gem on the lower east side, actually my anchor for passing through New York on my way home to Chicago! When I came across a post about this vegan deli in my Facebook feed, I put it on the list of things to do sometime, and that opportunity came up not too long after! I think anyone would love this place, from the delicious breakfast sandwich The Bowery, which I had with some avocado added to it, to The Monty, a vegan reuben, vegan donuts which are so tasty, (highly recommend the hibiscus donut! May sound strange for a donut flavor, but I assure you, it’s delish! to the array of vegan meats, cheeses and spreads in their deli case, to chocolates and all kinds of other vegan products. Anyone would love it, but those of the vegan ilk will likely be geeking out, as was I! And the staff!!! Wow! What delightful people! Chenoa was so helpful and friendly, as was everyone else! I hope you find a reason to pass through New York, and find your way here!
The 'bacon, egg, and cheese (The Bowery) was so delightful, bringing back the nostalgia of when I ate bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches with impunity. I will visit again, many times in fact, to try more of their food and great products. It is a small location but packed with great products. The Staff was super polite and helpful.
Excellent vegan market deli (takeout). They offer 5 gluten-free options. So far I’ve had the Edith Poppy and both were DELICIOUS

If you aren 't vegan, this place might make you question your dietary choices. They have all the faux deli meats from just about every up-and-coming brand, including the notorious Herbivorous Butcher (they dropped the 'notorious ' because they already have too much street cred). I 've tried all their stuff, and I think you can 't go wrong buying anything that has Herbivorous Butcher on it. Their ribs will freak out any naysayer, I guarantee it. Go there now, and eat a freakin ' bagel already! Go vegan!
Cruelty free bagel, lox, cream cheese and black and white cookies that taste even better than they did in my childhood OMG! The very friendly, knowledgeable staff helped me every day during my NYC weekend. I sat at the window counter and ate The Edith, The Marlowe, The Emma, and more. I brought home cookies, carrot 'lox, ' and two kinds of bleu cheeze (which made a party full of omnivores go OMG! . I cannot wait to return whenever I visit NYC.
