The only reason I’m rating this cafe fou... read more The food at Urbana Cafe Pendleton is fantastic, and I always enjoy my visits. They offer a great variety and selection. The only reason I’m rating this cafe four stars instead of five is because of one staff member. I stop by occasionally for coffee or lunch since it’s close to my workplace, but I’ve grown hesitant due to my interactions with a particular woman who seems to lack people skills. While this might not be an issue elsewhere, in a customer service role it really stands out. She often comes across as hostile and dismissive when questions are asked about the menu. I haven’t seen her at the other Pendleton cafe, so I’m not sure if she works there too. On the plus side, she’s excellent at making coffee and sandwiches, so I can’t fault her skills there. However, her obvious disregard for customers, which I've witnessed multiple times, is disappointing. Overall, the food and drinks are consistently delicious and handmade, making this a great spot aside from that one negative aspect.

Every time I visit, there’s some kind of problem that makes the experience awkward and frustrating.
