The Lateral Sports - Cincinnati

I gave this bar multiple chances to impress me, but each time I left disappointed. The staff appears more focused on partying and drinking than on running a proper establishment or fulfilling their responsibilities. On weekends, the place turns into a chaotic hub for underage drinking, with no enforcement of mask-wearing. I honestly wish this place would either shut down or get new management, as the current owners, managers, and employees clearly have little regard for customer service, cleanliness, or the health and safety of others, especially during a global pandemic and in light of local laws. I would rate it -10 out of 10, two thumbs down, and I do not recommend it at all.

The atmosphere was quite nice, definitely reminiscent of a college bar. While it could benefit from some physical upgrades, I would suggest maintaining a rustic pub feel.

The owner's behavior toward a minor was quite concerning, which negatively impacted my overall experience.

Drinks are too expensive. There are way more better local opinions to get better service, cheaper drafts, and cold beer in cans.

Went to the Lateral to check it out as we used to go to thos bar when it was open under another name. I could not have been more disappointed. What used to be mainly a neighborhood bar has turned into a drunken teenage mess. I heard multiple times throughout the night kids talking about how they couldn't go to Dana's because Dana's would card and they got into the Lateral before they started carding that night. It was early winter and mainly filled with crop tops and sloppy kids. Will not be going back and am very sad for the neighborhood.
