Description

Taj India offers a delightful dining experience marked by reasonable prices and attentive service. Patrons appreciate the flavor and customization options, especially when ordering from the menu, allowing for adjustable spice levels. Signature dishes like Chicken Pakora and Shrimp Tandoori receive high praise for their seasoning and execution. While the buffet is decent, many prefer the a la carte choices. The restaurant's small size and carry-out focus add to its charm, making it a cozy stop for Indian cuisine lovers. Although beer and wine aren’t served, diners can bring their own, enhancing the overall experience. Taj India is worth a visit!.

The Chicken Tikka Masala was fantastic, very flavorful. The Paneer Pakora was also excellent, with fresh cheese.

I cant speak to the quality of the food, but I can speak to my experience as a DoorDash driver. When I went to pick up an order, they took what seemed to be an unusually long to be prepare it. They also forgot the customers mango lassi (my fault for not doing a final check though). I noticed that they didnt serve filtered water out of pitchers like most restaurants, but instead just gave the customers bottled water (I dont know if they were charged or not). Also, a major red flag was that I saw there were literally no Desi or South-Asian customers. This makes me think the local South-Asian population knows something is up about this place that the rest of us dont know. Do with that what you will.

The dish was delicious but lacked several ingredients as advertised, including raisins, spinach, and nuts. Despite this, it was still enjoyable.

Better than some.... We were hoping to find an Indian place a little closer to home that could compare to the taste of Baba India. While the food at Taj is pretty good, it wasn't what we've become accustomed to. My Saag Paneer had very few paneer cubes, and those it did have were smaller and more dense than what I have come to enjoy. The spice level was weak. I got a 5 out of 6, which is what I usually get, but there wasn't any real substantial heat to it. My husband had chicken curry, level 6, and it was more like a Baba level 4. His sauce was thicker and more tomato-y than he likes.<br/ <br/ We think we'll continue to brave the Oakley traffic to go to Baba India.
