old church they turned into a cool place to eat and brew. super waitress and eating was on site! fish and chips were very good. fish was very flocky, but 3/4 the bowl was fries. the Tri-Tipp salad was great! finished to perfection with honey balsamic dressing. in any case recommend! What User doesn't like about Taft's Ale House:
The fish and chips are quite good, and the service was pleasant but very slow. Felt the entrees are reasonably priced. Know that the beer cheese is served cold with a pretzel; this was a surprise for me. The facilities were clean and the ambience was cozy. View all feedback.
We stopped for dinner on Friday night at 19 hours and were packed. we had waited 15 minutes, so we went to the bar and ordered a drink (gavel banger beep bop boop) while we waited. both were good! we started to dinner with artichokes. we ordered the hot honey chicken and the big billy, both were very good! our server was attentive and friendly. all good experience!
Taft’s is such an amazing venue in an old church. They have a wide selection of beers and a good sized menu of great food. Service was friendly and great, and our server helped us select the best beer for our preference. The bathrooms were also quaint and well kept.
Absolutely wonderful aesthetics! This place used to be a church so the beer hall is huge and very grand. The food is also good but the real highlights are the drinks. The beers are great! The tart ale and the cold boy were our favourites.
We visited the Taproom on Friday night and were extremely impressed with the stellar hospitality service provided by a solo bartender covering the outdoor seating area, bar, and tabletops inside the Taproom. Great conversation, jokes, food recommendations, and personality. Our group enjoyed the Buffalo Chicken Wings and the Tri-Tip Steak Wrap, which were delicious! We also enjoyed Garden Salads with the Honey Basil Vinaigrette, this dressing is bursting with flavor and worth a try! I can't remember the last time I had French Fries that tasted so good, a crunchy exterior fried to perfection without residue grease. Our group was not impressed with the Tri-Tip Platter steak, which was difficult to cut, tear, and chew despite being medium rare. Regardless, I would definitely recommend and return for the amazing service, drinks, and atmosphere!
Come for the beer and atmosphere, not the food. There's always a great list of beers being rotated and they keep up with the season. If there's a fun holiday or event, they keep up and name a beer for the occasion. The building itself is beautiful with amazing high ceilings. There is a public area on the first floor with several private rooms. Upstairs is mostly a public space with another bar and small seating areas. The staff is knowledgeable about their rotating beers and very nice. As far as the food goes, I've never been impressed. It's either chewy and/or over smoked. They've removed their power bowls which really helped their menu. Overall a great place to visit and on Tuesday's they offer half off beers if you where any kind of brewery attire. Come for the beer and service, the food needs a lot of work.
