Description

A vibrant Cincinnati brewery and gathering spot, MadTree charms with lush, jungle-like interiors, a sprawling patio, and a central wraparound bar serving inside and out. It’s dog- and family-friendly, offers solid craft beers, seltzers, cocktails and tasty pizzas, plus live music and games. Generous parking and helpful staff add to the appeal, though it can get noisy when busy and some house brews don’t please every palate. With communal vibes and plenty of seating, it’s an easy must-visit for locals and visitors alike.

We had such a great evening at MadTree. We were initially wondering if we needed to make a reservation since that was an option, but we decided to pop in and check it out without a reservation. It was busy, and the parking lot was full, but this place is HUGE. There was some sort of event happening as well as tons of indoor seating and, our favorite, outdoor seating. Placing the order from your table was kinda fun and then venturing to the bar to get drinks led to a nice conversation with the bartender about the beer options. We each had a flight that we enjoyed. We split the wedge salad which, while it wasn't actually a a wedge (it's chopped romaine), was delicious. And the pizza we shared was great. It was a really fun evening. My only complaint, and it's so minor, is that we tipped when we ordered our food, but I'm not sure what we actually received. We got our own drinks, gathered our own plates, utensils napkins, and were told to bus our own table when we were done. So, I tipped 25% for someone to carry out a pizza and a salad. That seems silly. Even with that in mind, though, this is somewhere we would eat again.

Needed a place to stop for lunch on the way back from Tennessee to Michigan. It had to have beer (for me) and it had to have vegan options (for my daughter). This place checked off the boxes and then some. BEAUTIFUL building and outdoor space. Perhaps one of my top 3 outdoor spaces I've ever visited. Beer was fairly solid and the pizza was pretty good.

Loved this place!! It was our 1st time there and loved the lively atmosphere and selection of craft beers, ciders and variety for anyone. We also ate a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich and it was fresh and tasty! Highly recommend!!

Always a cool location. With jungle interior, huge patio space outdoors, wrap around bar in the middle serving inside and out. Friendly bartenders, cozy spots, and brewery dogs galore. The food past and present is consistently good (although can take a bit of time depending on the crowd).

The new kitchen inside MadTree opened last weekend after Catch-a-Fire moved out at the start of this year. My family and I are big fans of Catch-a-Fire, so we were sad when this all went down, but the food coming out of the MadTree kitchen is a solid replacement. We started with an order of cheesy bread, topped with garlic butter, mozzarella, and parmesan served with red sauce and ranch $9). There are four slices in the serving, enough for each of our family members to try a slice. Nothing crazy here, but solid bread and good sauce to go with it. We also tried the fries with Happy Amber BBQ and ranch $10). This was a massive serving of fries and their BBQ sauce is great. My favorite of the day was definitely the tasty taco pizza topped with taco sauce, cheddar, chipotle chicken, pico de Gallo, Doritos, guacamole, and crema $17.25 for the 12-inch). The flavor combination on this was superb and I was happy that this was served with chicken rather than the more common ground beef for a taco pizza. I will absolutely order this again as it is unique and tastes great! Our kids enjoyed the cheesy cheese pizza $11.50 for 12-inch). My son said it's not as good as Catch-a-Fire, but I stole a slice and found it to be a pretty good slice of plain pie. Overall the serving sizes are large, with the 12-inch pizza being more than enough for 2 to split. There are six pretty big slices, so it could be possible to share with 3 people and a snack on the side, depending on the hunger of the group.
