I liked eating and service on a recent Saturday night visit in gumption. both of the escaped and net were great and I liked the ability to choose two sides a sauce to fit their main dish. the service was excellent and wein refill were constant without asking. spacious modern restaurant. the wine list by the glass had some good options. excellent. Not bad. Ordered the duck breast and lamb rack main. Very tasty duck but lamb a bit lacking cooked well but a bit insubstantial. Not enough meat and the sauce really lacked depth of flavour or in fact any flavour at all. The Gumption sandwich was just too savoury. Needs more sweetness. The pineapple helped but wasn't enough. This restaurant is a hidden gem, offering a fantastic culinary experience. The staff, particularly Rowan, are friendly, helpful, and attentive. The menu features a wide variety of delicious options. For starters, we tried the breadboard and tomato bisque, both of which were delightful, especially the amazing bread. The steak was cooked to perfection and incredibly tender. You can choose one steak accompanied by two sides and various sauces. I highly recommend the mac and cheese—it was delicious! The restaurant emphasizes local ingredients, although the Yorkshire pudding was slightly overcooked. They offer a selection of wine, beer, and soft drinks, along with free water. The venue is accessible, with facilities for disabled guests, and they accept both credit and debit cards. They also accommodate numerical wave payments with no transaction fees or credit surcharges.

The service was truly exceptional, and the food was excellent, all at affordable prices. The manager's attentiveness was outstanding.

The food was delightful and the service was outstanding. We arrived late, but the staff made us feel very welcome after a long day. We will definitely return!
