The service, the location, and the food were all excellent. We stumbled upon this place by chance, looking for somewhere to eat since most kitchens close early, and this was the only one we saw open. A perfect choice.
The portions are large, you can find a dish you like on the menu, the atmosphere is great in the main dining room (reserve a table there), but the service is poor. On the downside, the strudel is the worst of the six I've had in recent days.
We go there every year on holiday and eat there every evening. The food is hard to beat, the service is also excellent, and the dark beer is superb. You can see the brewery part of the restaurant while you eat, and the copper pipes run across the ceiling. The lampshades and everything else are in that style as well. It's beautifully decorated and generally very spacious, and the service is exemplary – friendly and attentive.
We were starving as we walked down from the convent hovering over the town, and the last flight of steps launched us more or less straight into this strategically-placed eaterie. So here we sat. We ordered a pizza, chips and a salad and two glasses of white wine. The pizza was normal size, a tasty enough margherita; the busy salad was huge enough for three; chips were properly cooked and tasty and went well dipped into the sauce that came with the salad. Service was brisk and friendly from two hard-working waitresses. On this warm spring Saturday lunchtime, the place was bustling. A fine experience, all in all.
