Lino Sauro, an award-winning Sicilian-born chef from Gattopardo in Singapore, has opened Olio Kensington Street in early 2017. The restaurant is located in the beautifully restored Old Rum Store, featuring a contemporary indoor dining room and a lush rooftop terrace with views overlooking Chippendale. Sauro's menu reflects his strong connection to his Sicilian roots, with dishes made from quality produce grown on his family's Sicilian farm. The hero ingredients on Olio Kensington Street's menu include seasonal seafood, wild fennel, raisins, saffron, and couscous. Come experience why Sicilian is the new Italian at Olio Kensington Street!.

Was Lavada Muller at Olio a mag?
Came here on a recommendation and thoroughly enjoyed it. We went for the degustation menu with wine pairing. Great food wine and fabulous service. The gnocchetti and dessert, in particular, were amazing. Hope to be back soon. View all feedback.

What Marguerite Raymond dislikes about Olio:
Beware when you booked via FirstTable. We paid to book Olio through FirstTable for a offer. However, unlike what was mentioned on the website, A La Cart menu was not available. We were required to order a set menu and drinks (per person) to enjoy the discount. That's not what we expected and sign up for! They should have stated this clearly on the website beforehand. Of course, you ticked the Terms and Conditions box... View all feedback.

I was in Sydney for work last Friday and I met up for dinner with a friend who I had worked with previously. She had selected Olio in Kensington Street. From start to finish this was a Lovely Italian Experience. The setting and lighting was...very comfortable. We had the degustation menu with wine pairings. Throughout the meal the staff were attentive and helpful, without being overly intrusive. The food was delicious ... and after a discussion with out waiter they substituted in a Sicilian pasta dish. This was nothing short of amazing. Every now and then one of chefs came out from the open kitchen and wandered around the tables, having a quick chat with people to see how people were enjoying themselves and answering questions about the food. They obviously listen because the restaurant ran efficiently all night long. Can't wait to go back.

Olio is has a great location in Kensington street Chippendale. Food has Sicilian flavours. The decor is relaxing and not over the top. The space is relaxing and elegant. The owner chef is definitely passionate about his cooking and has an eye for detail. The...owner, Lino ex Singapore restaurant GattoParto brings his Sicilian talents to Sydney. You must try the traditional spaghetti And dessert is a mouthwatering Millefoglie. Must try.

The staff had a great balance between professional and friendly without being too familiar. It was a set menu with matching wines but we did have a look at a few extra wines in between courses. The sommelier was extremely knowledgeable and his recommendations were...perfect. I always love it when the head chef comes out to talk to us and Exec Chef Lino did that several times during the night. The white truffle was exceptional and the food pairing was perfect. The only criticism I would have (if you can even call it that was that the portion sizes were quite large. It felt criminal to leave anything on the plate! Really looking forward to coming back with friends in the near future to try to standard menu. Thanks team Olio for a fabulous evening Tatiana

We go to Olio, since it is open, so this is probably our 12th. Visit. Fabulous restaurant and beautiful surroundings. Always consistently high quality Italian cuisine with a Sicilian influence. An interesting menu and wine list of mostly Italian wines. Worth a visit.
