Diners rave about the rich tortilla soup, vibrant guacamole, and fulfilling tortas, particularly the Carne Asada and Pepito. While options like the spicy chicken churro sandwich and margaritas receive high marks, some found certain dishes, such as churros, a tad too sweet. Despite minor service fluctuations—such as varying wait times—most patrons appreciate the attentive staff. With a cozy atmosphere and a diverse menu, Xoco stands out as a promising choice for satisfying cravings for bold, authentic Mexican cuisine.
If you find yourself in the River North neighborhood and in need of a quick meal, Xoco is the perfect spot for you. We tried the Ahogada, which was served in a flavorful tomato broth, and the spicy Shrimp a La Diabla, both of which were delicious! To finish off our meal, we ordered a side of churros with chocolate dipping sauce, which were hot, crispy, and light. Overall, the flavors of our dishes were amazing and the prices were very reasonable. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit!
The restaurant offers incredible dishes at affordable prices. I tried the Spicy Chicken Churro Sandwich and it was the best sandwich I have ever had. The combination of salty and sweet was perfect, and I wish I could go back and taste it for the first time again. The guacamole, tacos, and tortas were also fantastic - I didn't have any complaints about anything.
This restaurant is fantastic, with delicious food that is flavorful and appetizing. It can get quite crowded during lunch and in the afternoon. The staff is friendly and attentive. We ordered the almost naked nachos with spicy poblanos and queso fresco, as well as a set of beef tacos and another set of vegetarian tacos. All of the dishes were flavorful and delicious. We also tried the XOCO margarita and the americola, which were both refreshing. The portions are generous compared to other similar restaurants, so be sure to save room for dessert.
Went here for brunch, ended up getting lunch. Great looking and tasting tortas. Good place when all other places have a wait ????. The churro was great but had a little more sugar then expected.
The food was delicious Starting with the chips and salsa, and ending with the churros (that I didn 't get a chance to take a pic because they were devoured!! The Ahogada (torta was the best to me... having the bread drawing on the plate, in that sauce/salsa, is amazing !! It 's soooo tasty!! The Tortilla Soup was very good, a real soup, not like in other places that it 's more like you 're having chips with tons of melted queso !! The Pepito torta was very good, too!!
