Description

The overall consensus on the restaurant Steadfast is mixed. Some reviewers found the menu and food to be average, with one mentioning that there are better options available. Others praised specific dishes like the butternut squash soup and the Waygu, along with the restaurant's beautiful interior and excellent service. Some diners had issues with the noise level, the requirement for the entire table to participate in special menus, and the pricing. However, the general consensus is that Steadfast is a decent option for business lunches or special occasions, with a few standout dishes that make it worth a visit.

We were in Chicago to see Hamilton and were staying next door to The Gray. We went the morning of the play since it was convenient. Service wasn’t the best, as we were left standing at the host stand for a while and weren’t helped. Finally, wecaught someone’s attention and were able to get help. Our waiter was doing his best but seemed a bit flustered and wasn’tquite knowledgeable. They seemed short staffed. Food was decent but nothing special. My omelette was really watery which made ita lot less enjoyable. The waffle was pretty good and so were my potatoes.

Steadfast is located in a hotel, but it doesn't have that typical hotel vibe. When we visited on a Saturday evening, we were pleasantly surprised by the serene atmosphere, with only a few patrons at the bar. Even with the small crowd, the beautiful decor, outstanding service, and incredible food—especially the bread basket!—made our dining experience delightful. We're hoping that the restaurant has a more lively atmosphere on other nights because we can't wait to return.

Went here for New Years Eve. Excellent service and especially loved the cocktails! Most of the food was delicious, but feel the appetizers were much better executed in terms of flavor and presentation than the mains. Price was pretty spot on for theflavors, portion size and flare they put into presentation.

I had the best gin and tonic I've ever experienced! The service was excellent, the flavors were remarkable, and the portions were so generous that you'll want to finish every last bite, even if you're full. I'm looking forward to my next visit!

We visited Chicago to see Hamilton and decided to dine at The Gray since it was conveniently located next to our hotel. We stopped in for breakfast on the morning of the show, but the service left something to be desired; we waited at the host stand for quite a while before anyone assisted us. Eventually, we managed to get someone’s attention and were seated. Our waiter seemed to be doing his best but appeared a little overwhelmed and lacked a bit of knowledge, which suggested that they might have been short-staffed. The food was decent, though not particularly memorable. My omelette was quite watery, which took away from the experience. On the bright side, the waffle was quite good, and I also enjoyed the potatoes.
