We arrived at 6:20 PMWe found a seat at the bar right away.
Seriously disappointing brunch experience hereLet me start with the positives: I liked the vibe of the restaurant.
5 star for service 4 star for drinks 3 star for food (satisfying but not wow-worthy) We came here for a pre-show dinner.
Excellent service, food, atmosphere. Hearty portions well prepared + excellent service.
This restaurant is so pretty inside and you also have an option of the outdoor patio seating. The food was awesome and worth the price. Delicious Sangria! Definitely coming back!
The overall consensus on the restaurant Steadfast is mixed. Some reviewers found the menu and food to be average, with one mentioning that there are better options available. Others praised specific dishes like the butternut squash soup and the Waygu, along with the restaurant's beautiful interior and excellent service. Some diners had issues with the noise level, the requirement for the entire table to participate in special menus, and the pricing. However, the general consensus is that Steadfast is a decent option for business lunches or special occasions, with a few standout dishes that make it worth a visit.

This restaurant is a solid choice for lunch in the business district, especially for meetings with clients or colleagues. I would give it a slightly above average rating of 3.75 stars. While it may not be my first choice for a casual lunch with friends or drinks due to the high prices compared to the quality and service, it is a great spot for a business lunch. The restaurant is spacious, making it easy to find a table, although it was quite busy during the lunch rush on Thursday. I ordered the lobster salad/soup and cheeseburger, both of which were delicious.
My sister and I went out for dinner and tried the five-course chef's special. We began with an appetizer that was just okay, I couldn't quite figure out what was in it. Surprisingly, we were able to get a table on a Saturday night when other places were fully booked. The drinks and food were not outstanding but decent. We were pleasantly surprised by the extra small samples that came out of the kitchen for us to taste. The bill for dinner and drinks was a bit on the expensive side for one person, but it was in line with what other restaurants charge.
This fine dining restaurant is truly excellent. I arrived very late but the staff were incredibly patient as I took my time selecting from the menu and ended up ordering four different items. The restaurant serves dishes at a high level and I had a wonderful evening. Congratulations to the entire staff. Thank you!
This is one of the best meals I have ever had! The attention to detail at this restaurant is amazing. The flavors and textures of each dish were absolutely perfect. We started with a selection of house-made bread and different oils and butters, which were delicious. Next, we had the scallop ceviche appetizer, which was incredibly flavorful and unique, and the presentation was stunning. I ordered the salmon entree, which was both beautiful and delicious. Finally, we shared a dessert, recommended by our fantastic server John, that was one of the most heavenly things I have ever tasted. The service throughout the evening was outstanding. We can't wait to come back here the next time we are in Chicago!
This restaurant is fantastic! We started with the caviar service, which was incredible. The bread we ordered was also outstanding. My wife enjoyed a salad while I had the soup, and both dishes were excellent. For the main course, I chose the duck entrée, which was quite large and simply amazing. It featured seared duck breast, duck confit wellingtons, and duck potatoes. Everything was delightful!

Went here for New Years Eve. Excellent service and especially loved the cocktails! Most of the food was delicious, but feel the appetizers were much better executed in terms of flavor and presentation than the mains. Price was pretty spot on for theflavors, portion size and flare they put into presentation.
I had the best gin and tonic I've ever experienced! The service was excellent, the flavors were remarkable, and the portions were so generous that you'll want to finish every last bite, even if you're full. I'm looking forward to my next visit!
We visited Chicago to see Hamilton and decided to dine at The Gray since it was conveniently located next to our hotel. We stopped in for breakfast on the morning of the show, but the service left something to be desired; we waited at the host stand for quite a while before anyone assisted us. Eventually, we managed to get someone’s attention and were seated. Our waiter seemed to be doing his best but appeared a little overwhelmed and lacked a bit of knowledge, which suggested that they might have been short-staffed. The food was decent, though not particularly memorable. My omelette was quite watery, which took away from the experience. On the bright side, the waffle was quite good, and I also enjoyed the potatoes.

We were in Chicago to see Hamilton and were staying next door to The Gray. We went the morning of the play since it was convenient. Service wasn’t the best, as we were left standing at the host stand for a while and weren’t helped. Finally, wecaught someone’s attention and were able to get help. Our waiter was doing his best but seemed a bit flustered and wasn’tquite knowledgeable. They seemed short staffed. Food was decent but nothing special. My omelette was really watery which made ita lot less enjoyable. The waffle was pretty good and so were my potatoes.

Steadfast is located in a hotel, but it doesn't have that typical hotel vibe. When we visited on a Saturday evening, we were pleasantly surprised by the serene atmosphere, with only a few patrons at the bar. Even with the small crowd, the beautiful decor, outstanding service, and incredible food—especially the bread basket!—made our dining experience delightful. We're hoping that the restaurant has a more lively atmosphere on other nights because we can't wait to return.
