The atmosphere was nice, and I appreciated the decor, plus the bartender was friendly. However, I found it odd that they requested four IDs when I was ordering four drinks at the bar for just me and my friend, who was standing right behind me. It felt like an unusual policy. Although I had arrived with a group of four, the staff had no way of knowing if both my friend and I were ordering drinks. It seemed like they might have been understaffed and lacking a doorman. On top of that, we were neglected by the server for 45 minutes. I'm giving the restaurant three stars, but I'm leaning more toward 2.5. They have reasonable prices and a decent selection, but my friend and I felt out of place since we seemed to be the only Mexican customers at the bar that night. It was really disappointing to feel unwelcome due to the server’s lack of attention.

They typically offer a vegan special, which is a huge plus. I live nearby, so it would be one of my go-to dive bars regardless, but the fact that they serve vegan sloppy joes every single day and treat vegans like everyone else who wants to enjoy a night out at the bar is truly fantastic for Chicago.

The Thai curry was outstanding, and the fried pickles—without the dipping sauce—were just perfect. All menu prices already include tax, and even if they didn't, they are fantastic. I can't wait to return!
