A refined restaurant with signature cuisine and impeccable presentation. The atmosphere is elegant and cozy, and the service is attentive, making it a perfect place for a special dinner. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
We had a wonderful experience dining with Sepia. The first bite, the lady edison country ham donut, set the tone and wowed us right off the bat. The balance of flavors in all dishes presented was impeccable, they are well deserving of their star. The overall tone is very comfortable yet upscale, just like Chicago. You will feel at home here, no matter your vibe. Don’t miss the wine pairing, the cocktails are delicious but the wine truly enhances the dining experience. I am by no means an experienced wine connoisseur and I found the wine pairing outstanding. Our server, Jordan I believe (curly hair and glasses), was incredible. We were really impressed with his service. Serving food in a setting like this isn’t easy and he is a shining star. I was happy to see they offer their employees benefits as part of the bill, as someone with a chef in my family . Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Great michelin star experience. Price was reasonable, service was kind, and environment was cozy with decent amount of energy. Two of us each had a four course menu. 1) Hiramasa Crudo Smoked Beef Carpaccio, 2) Lightly Smoked Ocean Trout Gai Yang Chicken Wing Zampone, 3) Grilled Beef Short Rib Rohan Duck Breast, and 4) Caramelized Apple Mille-Feuille Sourdough Crepe Cake. All were flavorful and would recommend. I’ve only had a couple of fine dining experiences in Chicago but this place was my favorite so far. Felt like staff was also extra attentive since it was for a special occasion. Price per person: $100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Rohan Duck Breast, Grilled Short Rib
So glad I chose to come to Sepia for my graduation celebration. The courses were amazingly delicate with layers of flavor that complemented each other perfectly. The desserts are also a brilliant finish to the 3 prior courses and left my party and Ifeeling completely satisfied with our meal. The wait staff and servers are kind and friendly and the ambiance is lively but alsosophisticated. Of the other 1-2 star Michelin restaurant I’ve tried in Chicago, Sepia definitely is the best value!
Every course was amazing! The flavors were so good and the service was wonderful. I also loved the free snapper on crispy rice and bread from the chef at the start. My only complaint is I asked for my steak medium but one one piece was medium and one waswell done. I wasn’t hungry enough at that point to eat the whole thing other wise I probably would have tried to send it back.I probably should have just gotten it medium rare. Other than that it was such an amazing dinner and so many dishes surprised mesuch as the salad. I cannot wait to come back and see what I get next time! It’s also such a great price for a Michelinstarred restaurant in Chicago.
