Description

Nestled steps from the State and Lake 'L' stop, this Potbelly blends dependable comfort food with bursts of top-tier service. Patrons praise fast, friendly staff, spot-on sandwiches and a much-loved broccoli-cheddar soup; regulars cite consistently great preparation and cleanliness. However, occasional lapses—pickup delays, order mistakes, uneven veggie prep and brief cleanliness or phone-service issues during rushes—temper the experience. Ideal for quick lunches, commuters and casual groups, it remains a reliable downtown stop when it's running smoothly.

It would be good, attention to Spanish speaking... however... we survive with street English.

Great customer service! Joshua is very courteous and professional. He and the rest of the team provided fast and easy food buying experience. And even though they were super busy from the rush of people that went to see the Christmas Tree Lighting, Joshua always had a smile and was kind. The food was delicious by the way, definitely recommend the Chicken Club with the Brocolli Cheddar Soup. Will be back again.

When we visited, the restaurant wasn't very busy, and there were plenty of available tables. We ordered the veggie skinny sandwich and the broccoli cheddar soup. The service was outstanding. I appreciate that Potbelly consistently delivers great flavors, whether in downtown or suburban locations. My favorite dish is definitely the broccoli cheddar soup—it's like a warm hug in a bowl on a chilly day. The sandwich was also delicious.

I placed my order for pickup at 12:30 PM, doing so at 12:06. When I arrived shortly after my scheduled time, the monitor indicated that my food was ready on the shelf, but it wasn’t there. I informed the staff and was told that it was still being prepared. After waiting an additional fifteen minutes, I inquired about the situation and learned that my order had not been made yet or may have been taken by someone else. I was on my lunch break from work and ultimately left at 12:55 without my sandwich. I understand it was a busy time, but it would have been nice if my concern had been taken seriously instead of being brushed off. Additionally, I'm not fond of the generic responses the store uses for negative feedback. I just wanted to share my experience.

I ordered the steakhouse sandwich and an Oreo shake, and I really liked how well they complemented each other. I added some deli mustard to the sandwich, but it was overwhelmingly strong and masked the flavors of the sandwich. I wouldn’t recommend using the mustard. However, the Oreo shake was fantastic—very smooth and creamy. It was definitely worth trying!
